Spanish Definite Articles are the words we use to define the nouns (specifically). In Spanish we have four definite articles, we are talking about the words "el, la, los, las". In Spanish the article will always precede the noun that it is determining.
Example
El perro. (the dog) (article + noun)
La casa blanca en la colina verde.(The white house on the green hill) (article + noun + adjective + preposition + article + noun + adjective)
Unlike English, in Spanish we distinguish between masculine and feminine, singular and plural forms in the articles, adjectives and nouns . So the Spanish articles "el, la, los, las" are the equivalent to the English article "the". The four forms are:
Masculine singular
Masculine plural
Feminine singular
Feminine plural
el
los
la
las
