节气简介

谷雨源自古人“雨生百谷”之说，每年4月19日～21日，太阳到达黄经30°时即为“谷雨”，正所谓“清明断雪，谷雨断霜”。谷雨节气的到来，意味着寒潮天气基本结束，气温回升加快，有利于谷类农作物的生长。

英文释义

谷雨的英文名为“Grain Rain”，其中grain有谷物、粮食之意，rain为雨水。谷雨是24节气 （24 solar term ）中春天的最后一个节气。也就是说，谷雨之后，我们即将送别春天，迎来夏天。

Grain Rain was originated from the ancient version 'rain germinate/ˈdʒɜːrmɪneɪt/（发芽） all grains', which Gu means grains, Yu means rains. Every April 19th to 21st, the sun reaches 30 degrees in longitude is Grain Rain, it is the so-called 'Qingming off the snow, Grain Rain off the frost'. When the Grain Rain is coming, it means that the cold weather has basically ended, the temperature rises faster, which is benefit for the growth of cereal crops.

这一节气到来时，降雨量增幅比“雨水”这天多很多，这对作物的生长十分重要。在大多数盆地地区，气温上升很快。包括西北地区，中国大多数盆地地区气温达到20-22摄氏度。

译文

When this day comes, the amount of rainfall increases much than the day of “The Rain”, which is very important for the growth of the crops. The temperature in most of the basin areas increases quickly. Apart from the north-west part, most of the basin areas in China reach 20 to 22 degree Celsius.

谷雨习俗

谷雨的习俗，各地不一。

南方在谷雨时节有摘茶的习俗，“春山谷雨前，并手摘芳烟。” 传说谷雨这天的茶，味道醇厚浓烈，香气逼人，喝了会清火、辟邪、明目等，所以谷雨这天不管是什么天气，人们都会去茶山摘些新茶回来，北方在谷雨时则有食用香椿的习俗，所以有“雨前香椿嫩如丝”之说。

译文

The customs of grain rain vary from place to place. 

Picking tea is a custom in Guyu in the south of China. It’s said that drinking tea on Guyu this day will help people clear away heat, exorcise evil spirits and improve eyesight. So no matter what the weather is like on this day, people will go to pick some new tea to drink. In the north of China, people eat Chinese toon as a custom on Guyu this day, so we also say Chinese toon is as tender as silk before rain.
