Since ancient times, teaching has been a noble profession. Andteachers are often compared to “gardeners” and “candles” which burn themselvesbut light the way for others. This indicates that people have a special respectfoe teachers and the job of teaching. According to brilliant individuals throughout the history of Chineseeducation, we can see that the responsibilities of a teacher lie not only inthe inculcation of knowledge, but also in the setting of good examples andcultivating of virtues.
自古以来，教书就是一份高尚的职业。老师常常被比作园丁”和燃烧自己点亮别人的“蜡烛”。这表明人们对老师和教书工作有特殊的尊敬情结。早中国的教育史调查中，我们可以看到，教师不仅肩负传播知识的重任，同时也在道德、伦理和爱国主义方面给学生树立榜样。历史上有很多鲜明的例子。
Today, it isencouraging that there are a large number of educators who are willing todedicate themselves to the educational cause. Although they work hard with extensiveknowledge and rigorous scholarship, they remain unknown and ask for nothing. Allthese qualities mark them out as noble and pure personality of teachers.
今天，令人鼓舞的是，大量的教育工作者愿意投身于教育事业。他们教学严谨，学识渊博，孜孜不倦。他们默默无闻，不图名利。所有这些都表明了教师高尚纯洁的品质。
However, it is alsoregret that some teachers are doing things not in line with their identity.They, for example, ask for extra fees from students with various excuses. Someeven peddle products which have nothing to do with teaching. Though suchteachers are very small in number, the harm they caused is serious. They mightbring about bad effects on students and ruin the image of teachers as a whole.
然而，遗憾的是，现在有些老师做出一些不相符于他们高尚形象的事情。比如说，他们以各种各样的借口向学生收取高额费用。有的甚至向学生兜售与教学无关的产品。尽管这样的老师是少数的，但是他们带来的伤害却是严重的。他们可能给学生产生不良影响，损坏教师的整体形象。
As far as I amconcerned, I wish all teachers would treasure their glory and respect bestowedby society and regulate their behavior. Leave virtue and kindness to yourstudents instead of greed for money because only this can bring happiness tothem. This is my own experience.
就我而言，我希望所有的老师珍惜社会赋予他们的荣誉和尊敬，规范他们的行为。给你的学生留下美德和仁慈而不是对金钱的贪婪，因为只有这样才能给他们带来幸福。我就是我自己的经验。
