在春暖花开的中国，在清明时节的上海，
想起了陈年往事，也许不那么遥远，只不过是四年前：
在西澳帕斯那座人们不太熟悉的城市，在八月南半球的早春时节，
一块平坦的绿地，一片茂密的树林，一汪碧水般的蓝天，
春天跳跃着来到眼前！
Several years ago, I went to Perth with my friends.
I was deeply impressed by the famous kangaroos in the wild.
Could I say they're in the wild? Possibly.
Look at the spring meadow in West Australia:
Could you find some kangaroos hopping and playing over there?
Maybe not clearly. Then, Let's go nearby.
哦，原来是袋鼠带来了春的活跃，带来了春的生机！
在满目绿色中，棕褐色成为美丽的点缀！

Now you can see.
They're five of them, looking ahead and hunching over in sort of an alert pose.
But one of them is looking at us, and it is a bit special.
Have you noticed something special?

呵呵呵，可爱的小家伙，拍照时，我可并没有看到你啊！
真是意外的惊喜和收获！

Oh, yes, it's a mother kangaroo with a baby in her pouch.
I didn't noticed it when I took the photo;
otherwise I would sure have given them a close shot.
Female kangaroos have a pouch called a marsupium
in which joeys complete postnatal development.
瞧，这对袋鼠整齐划一的食草姿势就像是受过训练的士兵一样！
棕色的毛身绒绒的与绿色的草地调配出一幅春天的独特画面。
Isn't it great fun to see them browsing the grassland in the same bending posture,
as disciplined soldiers crouch down into their trench upon receiving their commander's order？
瞧这位：翘首而立，像是一位优雅的女士。
她在等着某袋鼠献花吧？看到了吗？
那边有几束花儿，是给袋鼠的吗？
我拍照时感到很好奇！
Look at this guy: it balances itself in a lady style.
And then I notice something strange.
Here and there, bunches of flowers stand unfastened or lean against some shrubs.
They're a bit too conspicuous on the smooth and spacious meadow.
Why are they there?
Who put them there?
Could you make a guess?
That's what I did when I was taking the photos.
突然一个匍匐在地的老人跃然我的镜头：
他在干什么呢？不会是拜谒袋鼠吧？
这么多奇异的事儿使我觉得果然是身处异国他乡啊！
草地上的袋鼠、花束和跪拜的老人，多么奇异的组合啊！
Before I come up with an answer, I spot something more unusual.
An old man is kneeling down on the ground with his two hands supporting his upper body,
an obvious posture for kowtow. To whom? Not to the kangaroos, I'm afraid.
等老人站起来后，我走上前去：
我看到了什么？两块平躺着的墓碑和老人献上的贡品。
原来这里是墓地啊！一块独特的墓地：墓碑全部平躺在草地中。
与传统的直立的墓碑相比，它们不显眼，不张扬；
但它们舒服，安详。它们安卧原野，与草地融为一体。
Coming up to take a look at the things he left over, I view these grave monuments: Oh, I see.
This place serves as a cemetery for mourning over the dead.
Lying flat on the ground,
these tombstones are obscured in view of their towering counterparts in many other graveyards.
Well, doesn't their low-key lodgings give way to the country and comfort of the living?
袋鼠很开心，来分享墓地的贡品。
But how come so many kangaroos?
Understandingly, they come to eat, to share the articles of the tribute for the dead.
人们很愉快，生命终止的标志退回到地面，袋鼠的生机活跃了墓地的肃穆。
我想逝者们也很高兴吧：有袋鼠陪他们玩，与他们一起分享亲人们送的好吃的食物。
他们一定很开心！是的，他们一定很开心！
即使不相关的游人们也会关注他们，读一下他们的墓志铭，念一声他们的名字。
生与死在这块墓地中交合：逝者的家园，生者的游园。
逝者不再寂寞，生者珍惜生命的春天！
Knowing all these, I could not help eulogizing how kangaroos lightened the graveness of the graveyard.
And I guess the dead must be happy too with kangaroos as their company, feasting on the same delicacies
袋鼠在地上肯草、在草上撒欢儿，
墓园是它们欢快的乐园，逝者是它们冥冥中的守护神！
袋鼠竟然以这种方式融入澳洲人民的生活是我没有想到的。
The kangaroos are so at home on the burial ground,
browsing, lounging and leaping around or springing away.
I know they're the national symbol of Australia，
but I've never thought they're so integrated into Australian life, and in this way.
我恋恋不舍地回到朋友的车上，再看一眼草地上的袋鼠：春天在那里！
Back into our car, I take a last view of the kangaroos.
They are busy grazing on the ground.
突然一只袋鼠直愣愣地看着我们的车子。
“你先过去吧，袋鼠，”开车的朋友对它说。
“您先过去吧，朋友。”袋鼠好像在说让我们先过去。
真是个有礼貌的好动物！！
Suddenly,
I'm confronted with a kangaroo gazing at our car but with an acquaintance look.
"Hi, kangaroo, you go across the street first,"
says our friend who drives us here.
"You go first!" the kangaroo seems to reply,
How polite a gentleman he is!
我对着它噼里啪啦地拍了好几张照片。
它一点也不介意，自顾自地东张西望，好像在找它的伙伴儿。
It turns around, seemingly hearing something strange,
or looking for someone nearby.
几分钟后，它跳过街道，跑到它同伴那儿去玩了。
Several minutes later,
it leaps across the street and joins its flock on the other side.
袋鼠的剪影，
在洒满阳光的绿色草地上和两行并排的灰色墓碑中，
似乎也成了雕塑群像：
但我知道它们是跳跃的生命！
悸动的精灵！
在早春时节陪伴着熟睡的和清醒的人类共同享受大自然的赐福和祝福！！
Their hunching silhouettes set handsomely
and unanimously against the ground
and the long lines of the juxtaposed tombstones embedded in it.
茂盛的澳洲树林，独特的澳洲动物，
创意的平卧墓碑，悠闲的赏春游人，
共同绘出了一幅西澳帕斯的独特风景：
跳跃的春天！！
The place entertains the kangaroos and the kangaroos invite the tourists.
Because of their patronizing,
the graveyard becomes an attractive touring site.
And also because of their existence,
Australia is more unique.
Together,the Kangaroos and the monuments have made a striking landscape of Perth,
the capital city of West Australia.
