本文以牛津词典为蓝本对高考词汇进行组块，组成常用词组并配以简短例句，经常诵读必有效果。

说明：

1、本文共收约3500个单词。

2、带*号的单词为八级要求掌握的词汇。

* abandon [ ?'b?nd?n ] v遗弃；放弃

1. be forced to abandon被迫放弃

The government was forced to abandon the project altogether. 政府被迫全面放弃这个项目。

2. decide to abandon决定放弃

They decided to abandon their plan. 他们决定放弃计划。

3. be found abandoned 被发现遗弃

The car was found abandoned in a nearby town. 那辆轿车被发现丢弃在附近的一个小镇上。

ability [ ?'biliti ] n能力；才能

1. mathematical ability数学能力，reading ability 阅读能力

He has extraordinary mathematical ability. 他有非凡的数学能力。

2. have the ability to do sth 有做某事的能力

He demonstrated the outstanding ability to deal with people even when he was a child.

2. physically abnormal 身体异常mentally abnormal 精神失常

He seems to be physically abnormal.他似乎身体上有点异常。
