突破高考英语长难句1

【英语共读】的读者中一定有高三考生的父母，某君结合自己平时教学的经验，特推出高考长难句综合分析，以期能够为各位有些帮助，突破高考阅读长难句；

1. Pumas are large, cat-like animals which are found in America.（NCE3）

美洲狮是一种体形似猫的大动物，产于美洲。

分析：句子本身不难，有两个点，一是复合形容词，二是定语从句。

（1）名词+like构成复合形容词，“像….样的”，比如 “像熊似的”bear-like； “像狗似的”dog-like。

造句（快来留言）：

大熊猫（giant padan）是一种体型似熊的大动物，产于中国四川省。

（2）“which are found in America”是定语从句，修饰先行词animals；此时关系词which在从句中作主语，谓语动词是be，可以进行精简，去掉保留后面的补语。

精简为：Pumas are large, cat-like animals found in America.

2.When reports came into London Zoo that a wild puma had been spotted forty-five miles south of London, they were not taken seriously.（NCE3）

当伦敦动物园接到报告说，在伦敦以南45英里处发现一只美洲狮时，这些报告并没有受到重视。

分析：很典型的无灵主语（物称主语），主语多样性有助于句型多样性。

这也是典型中英文思维差异。

 “that a wild puma had been spotted forty-five miles south of London”为同位语从句，解释reports的内容。

无灵主语（inanimate subject）造句

a.我想到了一个好主意。

普通：I thought of a good idea.

高级：A good idea came into my mind.

更高级：A good idea flashed into my mind.（闪现）

b.他去到城里出差。

普通：He went to the town on business.

高级：Business took him to the town.

3.Nurses and other care-givers need to be aware of the possible meanings of silence when they come across the personal anxiety their patients may be experiencing.(2016新课标I，D)

当护士和其他的护理者们遇到病人可能处于个人焦虑时，他们需要明白沉默的可能含义。

分析：

（1）主句：Nurses and other care-givers need to be aware of the possible meanings of silence；

（2）时间状语从句：when they come across the personal anxiety their patients may be experiencing；

在时间状语从句中嵌套了定语从句“their patients may be experiencing”，修饰先行词anxiety。
