“Glass Box” Berlin New National Gallery
柏林新国家美术馆, 由"现代建筑先驱"密斯·凡·德罗于1968年设计所建,位于德国柏林市区西南。被称为现代"帕特农神庙",是密斯毕生探索的钢与玻璃的纯净建筑艺术风格的封笔之作。
Berlin New National Gallery designed by modern architecturepioneer Mies van der Rohe in 1968 is located in the southeast ofBerlin. Known as modern "Parthenon", it is the last design of Miesvan der Rohe in exploring the pure architectural style of glass andsteel.
沿袭一贯的"少即是多"设计理念,将美术馆设计为54×54m的正方建筑,顶部为边长64.8m的钢结构平屋顶;内部设由8.4米高的八根十字形截面钢柱支撑着的井字形屋架。为上下两层,地面层和地下层。地面上的展览大厅四周都是大面积的玻璃墙,用活动隔断布置一些流动性的展览。主要美术品和其他服务设施主要存放陈列在地下层中。大厅前的平台上设置了成组金属人体形抽象雕塑,与玻璃盒子的建筑相互呼应。美术馆分为7个展示部门,以复杂的分类方式各自展示绘画、雕刻、素描暨版画、印度艺术、伊斯兰艺术、东亚艺术、德国民俗艺品等。
Follow the consistent concept of "Less is More", the gallery isdesigned into the square of 54×54m with a platsquare steel roof with the length of 64.8m. The internal frame issupported by eight 8.4 meters high cross-section columns. Itcontains two floors, ground floor and underground floor. The hallon the ground surrounded by large glass walls is used forshort-term exhibitions by movable partitions. The underground hallsmainly display the artworks and the facilities. The abstract metalbody sculptures on the platform echo the architecture of glass box.The seven departments present respectively painting, sculpture,drawings and prints, Indian art, Islamic art, East Asian art,German folk crafts, etc.in complexclassification.
