湖北省造光绪三十年大清银币双龙一两为光绪三十年(1904年)湖北银元局所铸。有大字和小字两种类别，银币文字俊秀，龙图生动传神，堪称清代龙洋中的典范。

中国向来是银两与制钱并行，后来西洋银元大量流入，逐渐取代了使用不方便的银锭。光绪十三年（1887年），两广总督张之洞奏准在广东设局制造银元，揭开我国使用正规机器自制新式银元的序幕。新银币即是仿墨西哥鹰洋所制，重量是以七钱二分为准。然而在这转变过程中，出现一种规格与众不同，俗称“湖北壹两”的大型银币。

1904年光绪三十年湖北银圆局正式改名银币局，开铸新银元。由于湖北壹两是中国最早币文“大清银币”的银币，背部又是罕有的双龙设计图案，此图案常见于清代的银币上，除新疆地区发行的一两手工银币外，这是官方唯一发行并流通的两制银币。湖北双龙一两由于发行时间短，发行量较小，流通不畅，回收熔铸等诸多原因，目前存世量已非常稀少。

此币正面中央珠圈内镌满汉文“大清银币”四字，珠圈外上环镌汉字“光绪三十年湖北省造”九字，下环镌币值“库平一两”四字。背面中央镌汉字“壹两”，左右环镌双龙戏珠图案，龙鳞雕刻细密有致，身姿遒劲有力，龙爪张扬，神武有力。龙图外上环镌英文省名HU-PEN PROVINCE（湖北省），下环镌英文币值ONE TAEL（一两），左右两端镌满文“一两”。银币文字俊秀，银光灿烂，图文压印清晰，龙图生动传神，堪称清代龙洋中的典范。整体铸工精美，版底平整，呈均匀一色包浆，保存颇佳，极具收藏价值。

The front of the coin is inscribed with four characters of "Qing silver coin" in Chinese, nine characters of "Guangxu made in Hubei Province in 30 years" in the upper ring and four characters of "Kuping one or two" in the lower ring. On the back, the central engraved Chinese character "one and two", the left and right rings of the double dragon bead pattern, the dragon scale carving is fine and delicate, the body is vigorous and powerful, the Dragon claws are publicized, the God is powerful. The English provincial name HU-PEN PROVINCE (Hubei Province) and the English currency ONE TAEL (one or two) of the Lower Ring Hang Hang Hang Hang Hang are inscribed on the left and right ends of the Longtu Manchu language "one or two". Silver coins are handsome in writing, brilliant in silver, clear in embossing pictures and texts, and vivid and vivid in drawing. They can be regarded as the model of Longyang in the Qing Dynasty. The whole caster is exquisite, the bottom of the plate is flat and uniform. It is well preserved and has great collection value.
