         this 和 that 可用作副词，修饰形容词或副词，作程度状语，表示“这么”、

“那么”、“这样”、“那样”的意思。有时为了强调，可在this 或that前加all 修饰。

 

 例句：

 

1）I remember that you were only this high the first time I saw in your home.

      我记得第一次在你家见到你时你才这么高。

2）I don’t think the matter shouldn’t be this simple. I am afraid that there is

      something behind it.

 我认为事情不该这个简单，我怕这里面还有啥名堂。

3）I learn that he has been in hospital but I don’t realize that his illness is all this

      serious.

 我听说他住院了,但是我没想到他的病会这么严重。
