When a person is dying of some incurable disease, his family tend to send him to
hospital, for there he can receive the best possible medical treatment. However, in my
opinion, a dying person should spend his last remaining days at home with his family
around and in the warmth of their love.
It is ture that modern hospitals can provide skillful medical treatment and perform
surgery immedcately in case of emergency. But, on the other hand, a dying person
more often than not has to spend most of his time lying awake, listening to groans,
screams and other painful sounds echoing around all day long. In such a cold, solitary
atmosphere, he is not only tortured by his physical suffering but also plagued with
emotional loneliness and anxiety. This will only aggravate his illness and quicken his
death.
On the contrary, when at home, a dying person will be well looked after by his family
and he can stay with family members together, which is, of course, a great comfort to
him. The homey atmosphere will make him feel calm, tolerate pain, and cope with his
illness better. While it will not necessarily prolong his life, staying at home, at least,
enable the dying to enjoy the best love of his family in the last days of his life.

在医院里他可以接受最好的医疗。但是，依我的观点，临终病人应该在家里与家人在一
起，在家人的温暖的爱中度过最后的日子。
确实，现代医院可以提供熟练的医疗，在紧急情况下立即施行手术，但是临终病人
在医院里整天不得不听呻吟，尖叫和其它痛苦的声音，大部分的时间躺在那里睡不着觉。
在这种冷漠的气氛中，临终病人不仅要承受身体上痛苦的折磨，而且还要承受孤独和焦
虑的折磨。这只会加重他的病情，加速他的死亡。
与之相比较，临终病人在家里会得到家人精心照料，与自己的亲人在一起，这对他
来说无疑最大的欣慰。家庭气氛能使他心静，减轻病痛，更好地面对疾病。虽然它不一
定会延长他的生命，但待在家里至少能使临终病人在他生命的最后日子里享受家人对他
最后的爱。
