【英语习语】               the ball's in your court

        the ball's in your court这个习语来源于网球。是打网球时用的一句话。从字面上来解释

意思是：“现在球在你那边的场地上了”，也就是我已经把球打过了网，到了你的场地，现在

轮到你打了。

    所以这个习语的基本意思是“该你采取行动了”，“该你决定了”，即 it's your turn to

make a move, make a decision or take action。 当然，这个习语可以应用于许多场合，引申

出不同的意思。

   例如，你的老板把一件重要任何交给你，并为你作了必要的安排。老板拍拍你的肩膀对你

说：Now the ball is in your court. I believe you can give me an excellent answer. 这句话的意

思是：现在就看你的了。我相信你会完成得很出色的。

   你接受了任务，很高兴，对完成这项任务也很有信心，于是你就回答老板说：You’ve

assigned the job to me, so the ball’s in my court now.  这句话的意思是：你已经把任务交给我了，

下一步就看我的了。这在场合the ball is in someone’scourt的意思是 it is somebody's
