Deng Xiaoping (1904-1997), born in Guangan, Sichuan province, was one of the greatest leaders and a revolutionary pioneer of all time in China’s history. In 1978, with his leadership, the policy of reform and opening-up was established, which has a profound influence on China and other countries around the world.

The policy guided us Chinese people through tribulations to modern times. It has not only enormously boosted China’s economy, but freed our minds to create miracles on every aspect of our work and life. To put it bluntly, it is Deng’s contributions to China that has made China a great country once again.
