Robert Donat shocked everyone by winning the Best Actor Oscar over Clark Gable's Rhett Butler. But Donat's performance as the beloved Mr. Chips apparently endeared him to Academy voters. His character was modeled on author James Hilton's old classics master, W.H. Balgarnie, who taught for a half century at The Leys public school in Cambridge. The film was later remade as a musical with Peter O'Toole and Petula Clark.

I tried my best to make them bilingual, while a few, to my own dissatisfaction, are still missing the brief summaries in English, which are indeed not easy to be found from the website. So for this very few, I referred to the Chinese summaries from douban, wikipedia, or etc. which I quoted very carefully. It’s funny that during my searching and editing, I also found 1 or 2 articles introducing top 10 movies for teachers, claimed to be bilingual, which are definitely not in fact. Anyway, I didn’t do the same editing like English quotations plus
