动词不定式是一种非谓语动词，其结构为“（to）+动词原形”。

（6）不定式作状语

1）用作目的状语。比如：

They worked hard to get good marks in the final exams.

为了在期终考试中得到好分数，他们很用功。

They came to see us yesterday.

他们昨天来看过我们。

They took exercise every day to keep healthy.

他们为了保持健康每天运动。

“in order to/so as to+动词原形”也可以表示目的状语，解释为“为了…”。比如：

He often talks with American friends in order to learn spoken English well.

为了学好口语他常常和美国朋友交谈。

Lily saw many Chinese films so as to know more about China.

莉莉看了很多中国电影以便更多地了解中国。

so as to…结构可以转换为so that引导的目的状语从句。比如：

他正努力学习日语以便能读日语书。

He is working hard at Japanese so as toread books in Japanese.

He is working hard at Japanese so that she can read books in Japanese.

为了能看到全城我们爬到山顶。

We climbed to the top of the hill so as to have a view of the whole town.

We climbed to the top of the hill so that we could have a view of the whole town.
