动词短语是由动词和介词、副词、名词等构成的，在句中作谓语。

233.hang on别挂电话，等一下

用法：hand on也可以表示“坚持，抓紧”；一般用于电话通话中。

例句：Hang on; I’ll get a pen to write down what you say.

等一下，我要拿笔把你说的话记下来。

结构分析：I是主语，willget是谓语（将来一般时）， a pen是宾语，to write down what you say是todo结构的动词不定式作宾语补语。

234.hand out常去……，闲逛

用法：hand out也可以表示“坚持，闲逛”；一般与介词连用引出地点。

例句：Locked indoors, unable to get on their bicycles and hang out with their friends, teens have turned to social media and their mobile phones to socialize with their peers. (2015年6月六级)

青少年被锁在室内，不能和朋友们骑自行车去闲逛，他们就通过社交媒体和手机与同伴们来往。

235.heat up加热，变热，变暖

用法：heat up还有“加剧，激化”的意思，如果宾语是人称代词，人称代词放在up前面。

例句：The food is cold, and let me help you heat them up.

饭菜都凉了，我帮你加热吧。

236.hold back阻止，阻挡

用法：hold back的宾语是人称代词时，人称代词必须放在hold back中间。

例句：We can’t hold her back without enough reasons.

没有足够的理由，我们是无法阻止她的。

用法：hold down也可以表示“控制，缩减，保持，照料”，可以用于主语语态，也可以用于被动语态。
