英语语法：短语break the ice，break therecord的用法​

动词短语是由动词和介词、副词、名词等构成的，在句中作谓语。

385.break the ice打破僵局

用法：break the ice字面意思是“将冰打破”，引申意为“打破僵局，打破沉默”，通常指消除隔阂，开始做某事。同义短语是break the deadlock。

例句：What you should do now is to break the ice.

你现在应该做的就是打破僵局。

结构分析：What you should do now是主语从句（you是主语，should do是谓语，What是宾语，now是状语）， is是系动词， to break the ice是不定式词组作表语。

386.break the record打破纪录

用法：break the record通常用于比赛场合。

例句：I believe he will try his best to break the record.

我相信他会尽力打破纪录。

387.catch a cold感冒

用法：catch a cold中的cold是名词，表示“寒冷，感冒”，其中catch可以用动词get, have, take等来代替。

例句：She caught a cold after she came back from the market.

从市场回来，她就感冒了。

388.catch fire着火

用法：catch fire表示“着火，失火”，be on fire也可以表示“着火”，但是强调着火的状态。

例句：Unfortunately,the plane caught fire soon after it took off.

不幸的是，飞机起飞没多久就失火了。
