指示代词

指示代词是具体指示概念的代词：this这，that那，these这些，those那些，such如此的

 

1. 指示代词的近指和远指

3）在打电话或者其他场合，看得到的一方用this或者these，而听得见却看不到的一方用that或者those。例如：

This is Nelson speaking. Who’s that? Oh, is that you Mary?

我是纳尔逊，你是谁啊？哦，你是玛丽吗？ 

结构分析：This是主语，is是系动词，Nelson是表语，speaking是后置定语。Who是宾语，is是系动词，that是主语。Oh是感叹词, is是系动词，that you是主语，Mary是表语。

Hearing a strange noise, Susan at up and asked, “Who’s that？”

听到奇怪地声音，苏珊坐起来问，“是谁？”

结构分析：Hearing a strange noise是-ing式词组，作状语 , Susan是主语，sat是谓语，up是状语，and是连接词，asked是谓语, “Who’s that？”是宾语。

指示代词的替代作用

1）指示代词that和those中以用于指代上文中提到的名词，后面一般带有介词短语或者句子作修饰语。例如：

My seat was next to that (= the seat) of mayor.
