介绍一般过去时，用这首歌非常方便：我们看到，既有动作句the bear went over the mountain，又有状态句all that she could see was，还有情态动词句she could see。
这里的一个特别语法现象就是all用作先行词的定语从句：all that she could see. 当然这里的that是可以省略的，那就是all she could see. 并且，这句话还用做更大句子的主语部分：all that she could see was the forest, the river and the mountain.
