不过，绘本也有它自身的不足。对于小朋友来说，各种感官模式带来的刺激，所能达成的注意力集中度和持续时间是不一样的。
MP3音频，是单一刺激，虽然能够引导孩子更多地关注到语言——不然他们就听不懂！但是，这样所能够激发的注意力集中度是不高的，持续时间也不会很长。
相比之下，绘本是图像信息和少量文字信息的结合体，并且融汇了相当丰富的意义，如果大人再能略加解说，亲子之间有所互动，那么绘本就能起到很好的英语学习的作用。
动态图像，是吸引力最强的一种表现形式，毕竟它除了结合声音、图像以外，还整合了动态，这是没有动态的所有语言表现形式都无法比拟的。人，不管是小朋友还是大人，对于动态事物的注意力，都是非常集中的。为什么大家会觉得动画片、电视剧、电影什么的更容易吸引孩子的注意力？这就是动态图像的功劳了。
那么，绘本是不具备动态图像的，怎么办呢？很简单，我们找到绘本对应的动画就可以了。这样的动画，有的是简单的翻页动画，更多的是专门制作的动画来配合绘本的内容。
