在中国最大的城市上海，校园暴力事件正持续上升。据当地的一个青少年服务热线统计，校园抢劫、男女生恋爱纠纷和同学间口角升级，是暴力事件的三个主要诱因。
Campus violence has been rising in Shanghai- the largest city ofChina, with blackmail, battles over lovers and escalating quarrels asthe major causes, according to statistics from a local youth hotline。
随着一段网络视频的曝光，校园暴力问题再次成为人们关注的焦点：视频显示，上海某校园里，一个女生正在殴打另一个女生的脸，并不时地猛击她的小腹，此外，还用脚狠狠地踢她。
The issue of school violence hit the headlines again after a videoposted online showed one girl at a Shanghai school striking anothergirl's face, punching her in the stomach and kicking her。
据上海市青少年服务热线统计，近期，校园暴力事件占青少年法律事件总数的14%。
According to the Shanghai Youth Service Hotline, campus violence accounts for 14 percent of recent youth cases。
其中，受害者大多是13岁至17岁的在校生，还有一些甚至更年轻。
While the majority of victims are schoolboys between 13 and 17 years old, some are much younger。
卢女士的儿子今年刚上小学。不久前一天，放学后，他被几名少年拉进一条小巷，这伙人接着抢走了他身上的现金、手机以及公交卡。
Mrs Lu's son just entered primary school this year. On a recent dayafter school he was dragged by several young boys into an alley, wherethey took his money, transportation card and cell phone。
卢女士说：“从那时起，我儿子就很抗拒去上学。他说每次靠近校门，就会有个声音告诉他不要去。他经常用头撞墙，说脑子很乱。”
"My son has refused to go to school ever since. He says every timehe gets near the gate a voice asks him not to go. He always knocks hishead into the wall, saying his brain is in a mess," Lu said。
还有一位姓陈的家长打电话到服务中心投诉说，他的儿子是一名初中生，最近因遭同学殴打而致使面部受伤。他并不是班中唯一的受害者。
Another parent surnamed Chen called the center to complain that hisson, a junior school student, received facial injuries from hisclassmate. He is not the only victim in the class。
这位家长还问到：“对于那个打伤人的男孩，批评和教育都不再奏效。作为受害学生的父母，我们能做些什么呢？”
"Criticism or education no longer works for that boy. What can victims' parents do?" Chen asked。
上海青少年服务热线的专家陈晓雅表示，这些暴力事件的根源在于家庭。
Chen Xiaoya, an expert with the hotline, said such violence originates at home。
陈晓雅说：“在信奉‘棍棒教育’的家庭中长大的孩子，往往更容易对他人表现出暴力倾向，”
"Kids brought up in a family that often beats them as a form of education are prone to use violence on others," said Chen。
她还提出：“对于这样的家庭，我们建议首先要对家长进行相关教育，教会他们如何在相互尊重的氛围下，有效地教育好子女，”
"For these families, we suggest educating the parents first, andteaching the parents how to educate kids in an effective and respectfulway," added Chen。
她还指出在这一问题上，电视剧以及动漫也难辞其咎。
Chen also said TV dramas and cartoons have a lot to do with the problem。
“很多学生沉迷于偶像剧和日本漫画，但这些东西充满暴力色彩，”陈晓雅表示。同时她也补充道，国产电视节目相对乏味，但更侧重于教育性。
"Many students like youth TV dramas and Japanese animation, butthey are full of violence," said Chen, adding Chinese programs are lessfunny, but focus more on education。
她还建议：“中国应加强致力于制作优质的青少年节目和书籍，”
"China should do more to produce quality youth TV programs and books," Chen suggested。
之前被拍到实施暴力的上海女生，已受到所在学校——南湖职业学校的严惩，并向受害者道歉。学校为此成立了一个特别小组，以帮助她改过自新。

今年1月，国家政协委员詹绍芸拟写了一份关于校园暴力的调查问卷。结果显示，参与调查的近900名学生中，67%的人表示自己周围就有校园暴力，26%的人表示曾经遭遇过校园暴力。
In January, Zhan Shaoyun, a member of the Chinese People'sPolitical Consultative Conference, proposed a questionnaire about campusviolence. The result shows that of the approximately 900 students whoresponded, 67 percent say there is violence around them on campus, and26 percent have personally faced it。
调查结果还显示，其中80%的人惧怕校园暴力，还有18%的人表示在学校里缺乏安全感。
It also said 80 percent were terrified by the violence and 18 percent don't feel safe enough in school。
78%的受访者认为，学生斗殴事件高发区域为：酒吧，网吧以及偏僻的街道。
Seventy-eight percent think student fights happen most frequently in bars, Internet cafes and remote streets。
