凌哥英语(Linglish),值得置顶的英语公众号

  没有华丽的舞台,没有炫彩的灯光,没有专业的导演,甚至——没有充足的彩排时间。因为,活动分组、剧本改编、角色分配、表演彩排,全部在短短的40分钟内完成。

  但是,所有的节目,都是由学生们自己编、导、演。导演是怎么出来的呢?随机指定,还记得那个随机抽取学生的口诀吗?(Eeney meney miney mo, touch the tiger by the toe, out you go.)

预备工作

  在前一天,凌哥布置了任务:

  Tomorrow we will act out this play. You can bring some things to the classroom. But don't bring your bed here. Just some small things.

  从录像中可以看到,有学生拿来了“镜子”和苹果。有学生就地取材,用上了饮料瓶、椅子和扫帚。

  屏幕上的图片,是凌哥趁学生在活动的时候,从网上找的。

  因为是改编戏剧,学生回家需要先认真阅读原文。

激活学生

  凌哥只用了一个问句,就激活了学生对改编短剧的欲望:

  Do you want to watch the same play for three times?

  学生都回答No。

  So maybe you can act Snow Black or Snow Brown tomorrow.

活动分组

  关于活动的分组,凌哥是挺纠结的。因为按照通常的分组原理,“应该”是组间同质、组内异质。但是,这世界上有多少是“应该”的事情呢?难得突破一下行不行?

  对这个问题的批判性思考,主要是考虑“组内异质”时,较弱的学生通常会"被参与",其主动性就难以激发起来。而且,在整个过程中,他可能会表现出自卑。

  其次,短剧表演,和其他学习型活动有不同之处,即便是没有多少语言的剧本,也可以表演得很精彩。从培养学生的核心素养来说,这是非常重要的。不能因为语言能力稍弱,将忽视了他们的创意能力、合作能力、表演能力。

  所以,凌哥打破了常规,随机指定组长(导演),然后让组长招兵买马。这样一来,第一组的组长,自然“收罗”了语言能力最强的成员。而第三组的组长本人在语言能力上就不太强了。

  在活动过程中,第三组的组长一度想要辞职,还有组员想要独立门户。都被凌哥No了:First, you are a group. You must work together. Second, everybody must listen to the group leader and help the group leader.

  结果怎么样呢?从录像中,大家可以发现,恰恰是第三组表演的时间最长,而且对原文的改编也非常多。

  信任学生,鼓励学生,相信学生的才能,全面评价学生,真的很重要!

语言要求


  凌哥只提出了问题:What's a good play like?三个回答都是来自于学生的。

  1. 表现情感。

  2. 表现新意、趣味性等。

  3. 使用新、不同的、难的词句。

  可见,学生自己对戏剧表演也是有自己的想法的。

  然后,凌哥对组长提出要求:Make sure that your plays are like that.

  凌哥反思一下,觉得除了new / different / difficult,还应该提出一个right的要求,并安排语言能力最强的几位学生检查剧本。

帮助手段

  让每个孩子都上台表演,这是一件困难的事情。对于校级的大型活动来说,挑选演员是为了保证演出效果。但是,作为班级的学习活动,全员参与的意义不容质疑。如果将孩子排除在活动之外,对他个人的成长是非常大的打击。甚至还会影响他的人格形成,——因为被排除、被孤立了。

  凌哥以前接受老外培训的时候,他说,对于非常弱的孩子,我们要用宽容的心态。他举了一个例子:有一次班级活动,他安排最弱的孩子扮演一棵不用说话的树。因为道具是孩子自己准备的,所以那个孩子就制作了一棵很漂亮的树,他站在树干里面,双臂还能伸出来挥动“树枝”。

  在这个活动中,凌哥原则上只允许旁白(narrator)朗读。有的孩子比较弱,问凌哥:我能不能也读?凌哥回答:You can write on  a piece of paper or on your hand. Look and say, but don't read.(你可以写在纸上或者手上,看一下再说,但是不要读)从录像中可以看到,有几位孩子的确尝试这样做了。当然,也有非常弱的孩子,还是在读的。也没事啊,他/她勇敢地参与了啊,她知道什么时候该上场了、该自己开口了啊。——这也符合最近发展区(PDZ)的理论的。如果不是40分钟,而是80分钟,甚至120分钟,有时间多排练几次,相信这些孩子也能脱稿的。

  大家想一想,很多联欢会的节目主持人,用的是母语,手里还要捧一本台词稿的,对于只有40分钟来编导演的孩子,也不能全部高要求啊。

评价手段

  从录像中,可以看到凌哥邀请了两位学生对表演做了点评。(现场提问的时候,没有拍,所以是补拍的。但是语言内容没有改变。)

  最终,凌哥做了点评,评价了三组表演中我看到的亮点。最后的掌声送给谁呢?

  Group one and group two had the strong students. So Mr Ling was worried about group three. I had thought they couldn't even finish the play. But actually, they finished the play and the play was very funny. It's a big surprise. So I think they are the greatest.

(译文:第一组和第二组有强悍的学生。所以凌老师担忧第三组。我原本以为他们可能完不成。而事实上他们完成了,而且表演得很滑稽。太让人惊讶了!我觉得他们是最great的。)

后续任务

  作为作业,让学生将本组的剧本根据回忆写下来,允许学生修改情节和文字。通过后续任务,进一步培养创造性思维!

【附4位学生写的剧本】

  写Play One的詹逸凡同学,没有凭记忆写自己小组的剧本,而是大幅度改编出一个故事。里面竟然还出现了Siri(苹果手机的语音助手)。剧本中使用了很多不常用的词。

  Play Two,选择了三位学生的剧本。这三位同学尽管写的是同一组,但是认真比较就会发现,他们使用的语言是各不相同的。其中,张雨菲的剧本就是表演的蓝本。

  为了保持原汁原味,凌哥除了大小写没有做任何修改。有的孩子在尝试没有学到过的内容时,会出现语言错误,这是正常的。

ACT1

Dwarf1: Who's she on my  bed?

Dwarf2: She looks like a princess.

Dwarf3: Let's wake her up  now.

Dwarf4: Don't do that! We can  sleep over there.

Snow White: Oh! Sorry! I was sleeping on your bed but……

Dwarf5: But who are you?

Snow White: I can to tell you why, but  don't chase me away!

ACT2

Queen: Siri Siri in the phone. Who is fairest of all?

Siri: Siri not available. Connect to the Internet.

Queen: Oops, I forgot it. Siri Siri in the phone. Who is fairest of all?

Siri: Snow White.

Queen: What!

Siri: She is still live in the  forest with seven dwarves.

Queen: I'll kill her.

ACT3

Queen: Apple apple. Sweet fresh and big! Hey darling, would you like to have some apples?

Snow White: Oh! Thank you so much! I can use these to make a big apple pie and share with Dwarves!

Prince: What a pretty girl! I'll marry her.

ACT4

Prince: Marry me!

Snow White: I do!

Play Two (张雨菲)

ACT 1         

Dwarf 1: Hey, who is sleeping on my bed?

Dwarf 2: Oh, it's a girl!

Dwarf 3: Let's ask her questions.   

Dwarf 1: Don't do that! She is a good girl. 

Snow White: Oh, I'm sorry. I was so tired. But...     

Dwarf 3: But who are you? 

Snow White: I'm Snow White. My bad father want to kill me, so I run away and come here. I'm so tired. I want to sleep, so ... I'm sorry to break you. 

Dwarf 2: What a poor girl! You should stay here. Nobody can find you here. 

Dwarf 1: We should go to work now. We'll see you in the afternoon.

Snow White: Oh, can you help me?  

Dwarf 3 : OK, what's the matter?  

Snow White: There is a letter for my best friend Lily. Can you help me to give her?

Dwarves: Yes, we can. Let's go! 

ACT 2

Lily: Oh, Snow White is dangerous! I must be save her

ACT 3 

King: Mirror, mirror, is my daught dead?  

Mirror: No, she isn't. She is in the forest.

King: Oh, I'm going to kill her!  

ACT 4   

Snow White: Oh, grandpa, are you OK?

King: What a kind girl! I'm OK. Here is a drink  for you. It's very sweet. Please drink it. 

Snow White: Thank you. Oh, why can't I keep my eyes open?  

King: My country will be getting lucky! Wow haha! 

ACT 5       

Lily: Oh, Snow White! Drink this medicine water quickly!  

Snow White: Oh, Lily! Thank you very much!  

Lily: Let's go to another country!   

Snow White: OK! 

ACT 6

Dwarves: Snow White, where are you go?

Snow White: Thank you for you care. I'm going to another country with my friend Lily.  Goodbye!

Dwarves: Oh, we are very pity. But, wish you good luck! Bye,bye!

That's over.  

Play Two(蔡文雅)

Many years ago, a bad king asked someone to kill Snow White in the forest . But that man didn't do it.  So Snow White quickly ran away.  In the late afternoon,  Snow White came to a small house.  Since she was so sleepy and tired,  she fell asleep on one of the beds . 

Dwarf 1: Hey , who is sleeping on my bed ?

Dwarf 2: Oh, it's a girl. 

Dwarf 3: Let's wake her up and ask her questions. 

Dwarf 4: Don't do that! She's not a bad girl. Let her sleep. We can sleep over there.

Snow White: Oh, I'm sorry. I was sleeping on your bed. I'm sorry. But……

Dwarf 5: But who are you?

Snow White: I'm Snow White. The bad king, my father asked someone to kill me in the forest. But that man didn't do it and he let me run away. So I came here.

Dwarf 6: Oh,what a poor girl! You should stay here. Nobody can find you here.

Dwarf 7: We are going to work now. We'll see you in the afternoon. Bye.

Snow White:  Wait a moment, can you do me a favor?

Dwarf 2: Yes.

Snow White : Please give this letter to my best friend Lily.

Dwarf 2: OK.

They put the letter in the Lily family of the door and went away. Lily saw the letter and read it out.

Lily: I now is in danger, please come and save me. 

On the way to Lily, a damn the king began to action.

King:  Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who is the most beautiful one the word? Is my wife?

Mirror: No, is Snow White.

King:  What? Snow White? She is dead already.

Mirror: No, she is still in the forest.

King: I'm going to kill her now.

The king gets dressed and goes into the forest to find Snow White. 

Snow White: Oh, grandpa, are you OK? Let me help you up.

King: Oh, what a kind girl! I'm OK. Here's a glass of water for you. You can drink it.

Snow White: Thank you.

King: Bye-bye.

Snow White: Bye-bye. Oh, I'm sleepy now. I can't open my eyes.

Snow White falls down.

Dwarf 1: Look, that's Snow White.

Dwarf 2: What's wrong with her? Is she dead?

Dwarf 3: No, she isn't. Let's get her some water.

Dwarf 4: Here's the warter. Snow White, wake up. Wake up.

Dwarf 5: She's dead now. Let's make her a beautiful bed with flowers.

Dwarf 6: Who can help her? Who can help her ?

Lily: Oh, Snow White. I have here the antidote, I give her to drink. 

The Snow White wakes up.

Snow White: Oh, Lily.

Lily: We will go to other countries. Bye-bye.

Dwarves: Bye-bye.

From now on they happiness of life together.

Play Two(吴佳杰)

Act 1

Dwarf  1: Hey, who is sleeping on my bed?

Dwarf  2: Oh, it's a girl.

Dwarf  3: Let's wake her up and ask her question.

Dwarf  4: Don't do that! She's not a bad girl. Let her sleep. We can sleep over there.

Snow  White: Oh, I'm sorry, I was sleeping on your bed. I'm sorry. But ...

Dwarf  5: But who are you?

Snow  White: I'm Snow White. The bad king, my step-father asked someone to kill me in the forest. But that man didn't do it and he let me run away. So I came here.

Dwarf  6: Oh, what a poor girl! You should stay here. Nobody can find you here.

Act 2

King: Mirror, mirror, on the wall, is my daughter dead?

Mirror: No, she still in the forset.

King: Oh, I'm going to kill her now.

Act 3

Snow  White: Oh grandpa, are you ok? Let me help you up.

King: Oh, what a kind girl! I'm ok. Here some magic water. It can make your father lucky.

Snow  White: Thank you.

King: Bye-bye.

Snow  White: Bye-bye. Oh, I'm sleepy now. I can't open my eyes.

Act 4

Dwarf  1: Look, that's Snow White.

Dwarf  2: What's wrong with her? Is she dead?

Snow  White: Dwarf, help me, give this letter to my friend.

Dwarf  2: OK.

Friend: Oh, you are sleeping. I can help you. Let's go to the hospital.
