Most(adj.)最多的；大多数，大部分是many,much的最高级。作'最多的'意思讲时，the可以省略。例如：
Those who have(the) most money are not always the happiest.那些最有钱的并不一定是最快乐的。
Which of you has made (the) most mistakes?你们当中哪一个犯的错误最多？
Most people think so.多数人都这样想。
Most meat is expensive.肉类多数是价格昂贵的。
Most pop music drives me out of my mind.大部分流行音乐会使我发疯。
Most(n., pro.)大多数，大部分；大多数人与of一起，可以用在另一个限定词或代词之前，但不能用在一个没有限定词（冠词，物主代词，指示代词）的名词之前。例如：
He's isited most of the countries in Euripe.他到过欧洲的大多数国家。（不能说…most of countries）
Most of his time is spent traveling.他把大部分时间都花在旅游上了。（不能说…most of time或most his time）
Most of those people agree with my attitude.那些人中有大多数人都赞同我的态度。（不能说…Most of people或those most people）
Most of us went there.我们大多数人都去过那里。
A most (adv.)此时most是much的最高级，意思是'极，很，非常'。A most等于a very.例如：
The meeting was going on in a most friendly atmosphere.会见在极友好的气氛中进行。
This is a most useful book.这是一本极其有用的书。
The most(adv.)最much的最高级，通常和两个音节以上的形容词或副词连用构成最高级。例如：
Which do you like the most, apple, orange or peach?
苹果、桔子、桃子三者当中你最喜欢哪一样？
It's the most expensive car in the world.这是世界上最昂贵的汽车。
It is the most beautiful view that I have ever seen in my life.这是我平生所见的最美丽的景色。
Mostly(adv.)主要地，大部分，多半，通常 该词并非much的最高级，也没有'最'的意思，不能与most相混淆。例如：
The medicine was mostly sugar and water.那种药店主要成分是糖和水。
The village is mostly of mud housed.这个村庄里几乎全部是泥土造的房子。
She is mostly out on Sundays.星期天她多半不在家。
The work is mostly done.工作基本上做好了。
注意：１.类似下面这样的句子学生往往分辨不清，要特别注意。
She knows most famous singers in the town.她认识城里大多数著名歌唱家。（most是限定词）
She knows the most famous singers in the town.她认识城里最著名的歌唱家。（most和famous连用构成最高级）
She is a most famous singer in the town. 她是城里非常有名的歌唱家。（most是副词，意思是'很、非常'）
2．Most用作限定词时，可以用在一个单独的名词之前，或一个带形容词的句词之前，但不能直接与另外一限定词（如the,my,these）连用（见前面的例句）。又如：
He's one of my most interesting friends他是我最有趣的朋友之一。
3.a most 只用于 'a most +adj.+单数可数名词'结构中，在其它场合就不用a。例如：
He was most polite to me.他对我非常有礼貌。（修饰形容词）。
I know most learned men in the town.我认识城里大多数有学问的人。（限定词，修饰复数名词）
What interested you most at the fair?在商品展览会上什么东西使你最感兴趣？（副词，修饰动词）
