【含义】一系列有计划的行动，欲擒故纵

【例句】

We’ve been playing cat and mouse with our main investor and I think he might pull out of the project.
我们一直在和我们的主要投资者忽冷忽热的，我想他可能会退出这个项目。

Now that she is famous she has had to learn to play cat and mouse with the paparazzi.

【例句】

I must look like something the cat dragged in.

【含义】山中无老虎，猴子称大王

【例句】

My parents never leave us alone when they go out of town. They know very well that while the cat’s away the mice will play.

【含义】咧嘴傻笑，露齿嬉笑

【例句】

We bought our daughter a new bicycle and all week she has been grinning like a Cheshire cat.
