Brief Introduction Of Zee Cheng Khor Moral Society In Melbourne

Our organization Zee Cheng Khor Moral Society (ZCK) was established in Melbourne in 2002, and is part of a worldwide network of non-profit organizations popularly known as the Moral Uplifting Societies. Their main activities are helping the communities and contributing to charity to relief poverty and sufferings of mankind.

We practice inter faith and honor the teachings of the 5 main religions, namely Christianity, Islam, Taoism, Confucianism, Buddhism.

We uphold the principles established by our Divine Master, Ji Gong on behalf of all other Divine Masters. They are the 10 virtues and the 8 precepts.

The Ten Virtues refers to our accountable attributes or expected behaviors of human nature & social interpersonal principles.

The Eight Main Precepts refer to our personal Codes of conduct and the action of Integrity

Our network around the world includes some Australian States of Sydney, Canberra, Perth and Melbourne, Currently, there are a total of not less than 300 branches throughout the world. There are in,

What is Moral Uplifting Society and what is Dejiao?

Moral Uplifting Society is a virtuous and cherished organization that believes in spreading Moral Principles with the aim of enhancing human behaviors, so that-

  1. it enhances the quality of life for followers,
  2. there is respect for others and their beliefs,
  3. all human beings work towards harmony and Peace Of the World.
  4. and to practice the fundamental qualities of human kindness and trustworthiness.
  5. and also to spread the Ten Virtues & Eight Main Precepts (Codes of Conduct).

Dejiao is a moral uplifting society, which also propagates the 10 simple virtues and 8 Precepts (codes of conduct), which transcend from all great religious teachings and extol the basic principles of morality.

It is a multi-faith Movement which spreads the teachings and the doctrines of the creators of the five great faiths, Taoism, Confucianism, Buddhism, Islam and Christianity. The common tenet of these faiths is Morality!

DEJIAO is also an educational institution which I aimed at uplifting the morality of the contemporary society by adopting the following guidelines:

The Ten Virtues are:

  1. Filial Piety : Practice filial piety towards parents. Take care &respect them.
  2. Brotherly Love : Live together in harmony with love & respect towards brothers, sisters, relatives and friends.
  3. Loyalty : Conscientious in performing all duties to serve our nation, society and protect them.
  4. Sincerity : Keep all promises and be trustworthy and responsible.
  5. Courtesy : Express friendliness towards young, aged and the infirm. Respect and protect them.
  6. Integrity : Practice Justice, do not be arrogant, be fair, truthful and unselfish.
  7. Honesty : Untarnished by materialistic living, be satisfied and happy with that we have.
  8. Modesty : Be contended. Do not seek titles/fames when not due.
  9. Benevolence : Compassion and unconditional love will always benefit humanity.
  10. Wisdom : Gather correct information, analyses each situation and impart impartial solution to resolve problems.

The Eight Main Precepts – Codes of conduct and the actions of Integrity are:

  1. Do not cheat 不欺
  2. Do not commit falsehood 不伪
  3. Do not be greedy 不贪
  4. Do not have concealed motives/preposterous 不妄
  5. Do not be arrogant 不骄
  6. Do not be negligent 不怠
  7. Do not aggrieved 不怨
  8. Do not impart hatred on others 不恶

A brief history of our Divine Master, JiGong:

The legend of JiGong was based on a real historical person and he had many names. He was born under the name Li Xinyuan. (1130-1207). Li became a monastic at the age 18 at the famous Ling Yin Temple near Hangzhou and was ordained under the monastic name Daoji, 道济释师because the people in the Taoist Religion also revered him. Later he was honored with a Buddhist mane JiGong 济公活佛 - or full name “Living Buddha JiGong”. That was quite a title to give to someone who was kicked out of temple because he refused to follow the rules. Ji Gong’s eccentric behavior broke the rules of the Vinaya (traditional code for monks). However, he always had a smile and a kind heart and never failed to help ordinary people.

Unlike other traditional monks, he drank wine and ate meat and looked like a happy madman. He ate whatever was offered to him by the people as he was a wandering “beggar” monk. He believed that what is in your heart and soul is more important than following strict rules. Therefore he marched to his own drummer, regardless of the scolding and punishments he received. The leaders of the monastery finally got tired of his behavior and kicked him out. From then on, JiGong roamed the streets and helped people whenever he could. He was deeply loved by the public as he was always ready to help the ordinary people. He was always ready to defend people against injustice, punish vice, reward virtue, etc.

Ji Gong was a folk hero in China folklore, he was a monk with magical powers. In today’s modern world, he is also known as “The Mad Monk” and also the “Robin Hood” of China.

He was seen as wearing a broken cap, a tattered monastic robe and always holding a broken fan. Over hundreds of years, his legend was performed in the form of drama, TV play, painting carving, movie, etc. His statues and pictures often depict JiGong with a mischievous smile, a bottle of wine in one hand, and magic fan in the other hand.

He was born a former military advisor, Li Maochun. His parents were not allowed to have children; therefore they sent him to live in all temple. Upon reaching the Hall of the Five Hundred Arhats, the statue of Mahakasyapa was knocked off its lotus throne. This was considered a sign thattheArhat had descended to earth – in the form of little Li Xinyuan.

While meditating and studying the Buddha’s teaching, Ji Gong acquired magical powers. Because of his compassionate nature, many people started thinking of him as an incarnate of a bodhisattva, or as a reincarnate of an arhat. He was soon recognized as the incarnate of the Taming Dragon Arhat降龙罗汉one of the eighteen legendary arhats.

When JiGong died at the Jing Ci monastery on the 14th day of 5th Lunar month (17 June 1207), Syncretic Taoism began to revere Daoji as a god from heaven and later adopted him as a Deity. Not long after that, even Buddhism began to respect him, and added him into the list of arhats.

If you utilize a person’s through to offset their weakness, you have nothing to tear.

十章八则事事好

The practice of the 10virtues and 8precepts will give harmonious results.

进进有步扬教化

Step by step we take, to promote the society’s culture.

齐心合力事可成

Only through unity will there be success.

行事扬化不惧艰

We should not fear facing difficulties when promoting the society’s culture.

定心定志把道前

A calm heart and mind is required, in order (for us) to make progress in this path.

今日之责非只此

Our current responsibility is not only limited to this.

联会诸阁成一线

We must align all Khors together as a fellowship committee (or an Alliance/Union).

以德扬教定寄盟

Utilizing the ‘promotion of Moral principles’ as the fundamental attribute of this alliance.

洋洲德教须一统

All the Moral societies in Oceania region (Aus + NZ) needs to be united.

一统方见德教浓

Only through unity will the Moral Societies be seen as ‘concentrated’ (a large group/body)

联系各会是一责

Connecting all the societies is but one responsibility.

紫成董职当加力

ZCK’s Committee of Management should put more effort (into this task).

德藏于心,行于事

The Moral principles should reside in the heart, and should be applied to all actions/ matter.

德,贤也,道也

Morality is the path of ‘Dejiao’ (Moral Society).

合天地之本,作德教之教材

Moral principles are the fundamentals of heaven and earth combined, and are used as educational concepts for Dejiao (Moral society),

以达天下太平,世无争日

In order to obtain world peace, and an end to all wars.

此为德教之临立

These are the core objectives of Dejiao (Moral Society).

依宗师所教,这为宗教

According to our master’s teaching, these are religious principles,

藏于心,行于世

where they reside in the hearts, and to be applied throughout this world.

这才是真正

These should be the real ‘truth’ (aim/purpose/reality).

本主以慈恕为教义

Through compassion and forgiving actions as the doctrine,

乃是让世人以慈悲为怀之心待事

these will allow people to apply a compassionate heart in dealing with matters

以宽恕之心待人

and applying a forgiving mindset when treating others,

以达包容之理

in order to achieve a (highly) tolerant state-of-mind.

然世人狂骄,不顾真理

However, mankind is overly egotistic, with no regards for the real truth/reason.

反为利益为处世之道,实为妄也

And in contrary to the truth methods, the method that mankind choose to conduct themselves/do things, is purely for fame, fortune, or personal gain; which is rather absurd.

清真之举,乃是本性的真我

The fundamental principles of Islam, are actually the fundamental character of a human being in its pure/true form.

真理乃须自身实行,以达真觉

The real meaning/truth, requires action from ourselves, to reach the level of enlightenment.

天父慈悲降经真理

Through our heavenly father’s compassion, he has passed down to us the Koran.

清真乃是以作唤醒世人之迷妄

The objective of Islam is to awaken mankind from their temptations.

乃做人之原则,以便在这五花七色之世上作为一方向

and show them the right direction towards the right principles of being a human being, within this world which is full of desires and temptations

惟世人多疑以自身利益为中心

However, mankind is suspicious and narrow minded to the extent that they only care about their own personal gain,

而不顾邻人之处境感受

and do not care about the situation of those that are around them,

这便是妄尊自大,实为私欲也

which eventually leads to over excessive pride or ego. This is a desire.

今生等于德教,当以身作则

This life we are in Dejiao, we must set ourselves as an example to others,

引迷入善,从中开导,

to convert the lost, confused, or superstitious people into the path of charity, starting from the heart/core we guide them

以十德八则为教材

with our 10 Virtues and 8 precepts as the teaching concepts,

亲自学用,一举两得,自度度人,这才是真正

in order to help others attain enlightenment/awakening. This is the real truth.

济公闻酒便一来颠颠疯疯为道开来此紫成为结缘也为教务当陪才

Ji Gong comes to ZCK to establish “yuan” (affinity/karma), and we are also here to teach the communities, our Society’s mission and to bring up and/or cultivate the talent of our Moral Society.

Requires the understanding of morality in order to walk the correct/righteous path

All of us from all corners of the world are one family, we are all the reincarnation of saints.

立德处世皆为民无侵无损圣门在十德八则作教材

The way back to this sainthood door where there are no losses and no invasion (direct translation), or ‘tainted’ mindset is through the teachings of the Society’s 10 virtues and 8 precepts.

成班董职应理才

All members of the appointed Committee Of Management should be more mindful of the talent that they have.

阁龄虽浅实有成

Even through the Khor is young (in-terns of age), but the foundation is present

诸事依德来定栽

All things should be decided based on Moral principles (10 Virtues and 8 precepts)

弟兄同心道然开

Once all members start working together, the right path would automatically open

依缘而生今身在

We are all born into this life because of our ‘yuan’ (affinity or Karma).

甜苦五味随伴游

Sweetness &bitterness plus the 5 senses accompany you throughout this (life) journey

虽醉然知四大事

Even though I may appear drunk, but I still understand the 4 main stages (in life).

生老病死乃一游

Birth, Old age, Sickness and death are all but a journey

遇事莫执最重要

The most important point is not to be too attached when faced with issues or problems.

万事随缘烦心体

If you let everything take its natural flow/course of action (随缘), you will be relieved of your worries.

归德修道这其乐

(Everyone)should return to the path of happiness by concentrating on cultivation.

道悟觉理任我游

Once you have become enlightened, everywhere is the same.

道理万卷,良言万遍

Scrolls and Scrolls of Principles, Theories, and Teachings have been repeated thousands and thousands of times.

总归十德,八则随身

at the end, they still come down to observing and keeping the 10 Virtues and 8 precepts conveniently by your side.

吾教德门,扬教显化,以德为宗

Through promotion of culture, through moral principles as the fundamental laws (of life),

以善为皆,德社临立

through charitable actions as our goal, only then would Moral society be on a stable foundation.

不谋迷信,不求香火

Dejiao (Moral Society) is not a place for superstition, or reliance on incense and oil,

以柳为器,以宣德理

but by utilizing the willow (‘Devine Pen’) as a tool, to promote Dejiao’s moral principles,

扶鸾济世,导化缘者

to help people and help the world, by leading believers (to a path of cultivation).

缘者有二

There are 2 types of believers,

其一前缘

the first type of believers is because of their previous life’s karma/fate and affinities () ,

其二求事

The second type of believers is because they want to ask for guidance.

善者善根,次者为生,

The First type of believers is here to further cultivate their spiritual life, and the second type is to further cultivate their (current materialistic) life.

自动被动,名虽有别

One is proactive and the other is passive, even though the name is different,

实为无二

but in actual fact there is no difference between these 2 groups

柳笔醒世,实而不妄

The purpose of “KE writing” (Divine Pen) is to awaken/enlighten mankind. It is definitely not absurd.

信者不迷,迷者不信

True believers are not superstitious, superstitious people are not true believers,

十德八则,故为宗旨

The 10 virtues and 8 precepts, is the fundamental law,

德门诸生,以身作则

all of Dejiao’s students should set ourselves as role models,

以德为邻

Keeping moral principles by us and should always be mindful of the moral principles,

方为德生

That is what a dejiao student is all about.

Success in the promotion of the society and culture lies in our words and actions being in accord (i.e. to do what we preach).

通俗礼仪与众共

And through the traditional etiquette/courtesy we follow to interact with the general public.

师坛前后就如此

Whether we are in front of the altar or ‘behind’ (literal, can also mean anywhere else) the altar, things should follow the set principles and procedures and be done the correct way.

兄弟同心为教宏

Brother and sisters should unite together for the purpose of promoting “Dejiao”. (Moral principles)

成事须有心,阁务力担行

To succeed there must be a will. Effort must be used to carry out the Moral Society’s mission

成愿以身行,阁务必然清

To carry out a wish/dream there must be an action, the Moral Society’s mission must be clear

成教以德行,阁务以德定

To establish a society/religion there must be Moral principles, the Moral Society’s mission is determined by these principles.

振心为教,熊志为阁。

(The president) should put his heart in the society and the Moral Society!

不是为吾,而是为苍生

It is not doing a service to the Sizun (Divine Masters), but doing for the service of humanity

公务即德方功成

The success of your duties lies in the Moral principles

活死本是一回事

Life and death use to be an isolated matter

佛性点燃诚诚

When you are born, you are waiting to die

生为了死

When you are born, you are waiting to be die.

死为了生

But when you die, you are waiting to be reborn

哈哈!正是,不死何来生?

Haha. Correct. If you don’t die, how can you be reborn?

Sizun reminded us again. When you walk on the road you should take one step at a time. Therefore, when you practice cultivation, you also cultivate (progress) one step at a time. That is the natural path.

原来本无今有成

There was nothing originally, but now there is progress.

Come, develop our talent

Morality, to use as our teaching (educational materials)

教教教,无分类

Religions, there is no difference

紫紫紫,仰圣裁

Purple, to respect the divine

成成成,作天才

Grow, to become a prodigy

阁阁阁,随缘开

Khor, is opened/setup according to the flow of affinity (destined opportunity)

醉醉醉,众人皆醉独吾醒

Drunk, everyone is drunk but not me (sizun)

颠颠颠,世事皆颠唯道尊

Peak, The highest point of many matters in this world resides in following the respectful path.

成教扬德,十德八则新屋挂碍,方为真道。明乎?

Establishing a society to promote morality, through 10 virtues and 8 precepts, your heart should be free of anxiety. This is the true path, understand.

道程便如此,近乎远乎,随缘济世,以德为宗,以苍生为师

The path of travel is thus, near or far, travel according to the flow at opportunity to help the world, morality as the fundamental, and sentient beings as your teacher.

慎行亦真语,方能在德行

Through sincere/genuine actions and honest words, only then, will you be walking the path of morality

新盘旧盘有何别?

What’s the difference between a new sand pan and a old sand pan?

人心道心即有何别?

What’s the difference between the human mindset and that of the moral mindset?

仍有分别心

It is all a subjective view (of an individual).

行善积德贵在今

The ripe time to do charitable deeds and cultivate morality is now.

面子问题变俗情

The issue of ‘face’ is but an outdated emotional custom/habit.

十德八则皆有云

The 10 virtues and 8 precepts have been mentioned before.

以德为邻方盛情

Only by keeping morality in your minds, will you feel fulfilled.

From the KE writing, comes forth the words of Jade emperor, with the view of curing the human mindsets/heart

行,无为,为济公精神

This is not for any specific purpose, but for Ji Gong’s vitality

行,真善而大德,

Genuine charity will lead to great morality.

善者,良也,贤也

A Charitable person, is good, and virtuous.

因无为而为,正真也。故有善子之名

Because they are doing things not for their own personal benefit. A very genuine / honest characteristic.

德典有曰:真善子,此是也。名利不沾,不图果报,圣人也

The Dek Canon does mention: Real charitable people, are not after a name/title or benefits, they do not scheme or take revenge, they are saints.

由善入圣,此乃道程也。

Charitable deeds will lead you to the path of sainthood. This is thus the “way”.

德教以善举如修,从小入大,实为方便也。此乃德教之真义,生等当记

Moral Society’s method of cultivation is through doing charitable deeds. From small through to big deeds. This is the natural path. This is the true meaning of Moral Society. All disciples must remember this well.

仁德何解?可。

What is ‘仁德’ (benevolent morals)?

观世音 == 仁

Goddess of Mercy == (‘ren’) has unconditional love.

处处为别人着想

Everything that is done, is for the benefit of others.

这就是仁了。

This is the meaning of ‘ren’ (unconditional love).

十德创阁济世为公

Through the 10 virtues, the Moral Society was established to provide salvation to the world as our objective.

八则修己处事莲蓬

The 8 precepts are to manage worldly issues in an orderly manner (like the lotus seedpods).

The path to sainthood, starts from the cultivation of morals.

彼岸永乐悠

The other shore will always be ever so happy and carefree

德教教圆融

Moral society is an honest mix of all (cultures, interfaith, Religions)

是也随道留

Even so, it must follow the flow of nature’s path.

圣人之道,尽在十德八则

The path to sainthood, is all covered in moral society’s 10 virtues 8 precepts.

慈主宣道,莫过于劝人认德

The method preached by the compassionate lord, is nothing more than encouraging people to recognize moral principles.

乃应德乃为生命之道

And to use the moral principles as the way to live your life.

慈主关怀,世人万物,也尽在道中。阿门!

The compassionate lord cares for all living beings in this world and for those who are currently walking the path. Amen!

慈主慈怀,宣天道于人,乃系唤醒世人之迷蒙,

The compassionate lord’s compassionate care, preaching the path of the divine to humans, is to awaken the humans from their confused and lost state of mind.

莫堕魔妄之途

And not to all into the path of evil.

慈主以博爱、仁慈、宽恕之道传于世人,乃系化迷途为圣道,以修己为圣灵,以回天主之国。世人不可不察

Through the method of providing the people of this world with unconditional love, compassion, and forgiveness, the compassionate lord is able to dissipate the confused and lost state of mind, and lead the people to the path of sainthood, through the cultivation of one’s self as the essence of saints, in order to return to the land of the lord. Worldly People must take note.

道济临柳述济“公”

Dao Ji has arrived to this KE session describing charitable communities.

德教应缘宣圆融

Moral Society should seize the opportunity to preach the interfaith.

教不离德德不离身育才培德济世宏

Just like morality does not part from moral society, the mind should not part from developing ones skills and morality in order to save this magnificent world

When undertaking tasks I reference to the moral ‘canon’

和融之道即中庸

The method to obtain a obtain a peaceful resolution (in everything we do) is the ‘middle’ path

尚洁之心为道德

One should ‘clean’ out their hearts (keep their minds pure) for the benefit of morality

是也德教一家同。

It is thus, that Dejiao (moral society) will remain together as one.

行天之道,济世之功

The path to the heavens, the task of saving this world,

纳贤培德

Is to accept virtue and cultivate morals.

天地之心,此为道之根本

The will of the world, revolves around this fundamental path/objective.

德门创立,则以道德为宗

The development of the moral society is for the purpose of (promoting) Moral principles as the objective.

作化世之材

To bring enlightenment to the world.

紫成九载,创阁之日

ZCK Moral Society is in its 9thyear, from its date of commencement.

新方如昔日

Where its new direction has not changed from its past (direction).

今阁之责任仍为扬大教化

The mission of the ‘Khor’ (Moral Society) at present is to promote the moral society’s culture.

济阴利阳

To take control of the ‘negatives’ (Yin) and exploit the ‘positive’ (young)

成三曹普度之愿

To continue with the direction/wish of (leading people to) enlightenment from previous generations

立善归宗

By establishing charitable activities that are in line care values of the Society.

修,葱跻身开始

Cultivation, starts from us.

以德为邻,度己度人

By keeping the moral principles close to our hearts, and enlightening ourselves to enlighten others.

为生之务,为阁之责

This is the mission for the disciples, and the responsibility of the ‘Khor’ (Moral Society)

紫成九载,阁基初定

In ZCK Moral Society’s 9th year, the foundation is beginning to stabilize.

以勤力劳,来日阁基必大定

Through perseverance and hard work, the foundation is bound to solidity further in years to come.

紫成当今之务,同德当相敬

The mission of ZCK Moral Society as of now is for all members to have mutual respect towards one another.

相敬即相和,万事可昌

Mutual respect would lead to harmony between members, where many mothers would succeed.

吾常道:行三千里路,学三千里事,此三千里从此开始

I have frequently mentioned: When you walk 3000 miles, you will gain 3000 miles worth of experience. This '3000 miles' should start from today.

生等共勉之

Everyone should work hard towards this (path)

The strength needed to progress the ‘Khor’ (Moral Uplifting Society)’s mission, requires cultivating our current tainted nature into our original (true self) pure nature (character)

以德扬教力证行

The effect of promoting the society and the moral principles is shown in our actions taken.

一入德门八则守

Once we enter the ‘gates’ of morality, we must uphold the 8 precepts.

十德人伦信愿行

And must be willing to apply the 10 virtues and have full trust in it.

忍,即是修,

Tolerance, is part of cultivation

在修不忍,还未算修

Cultivating and not tolerating, is not considered as real cultivation yet.

忍人不能,人上人也

If you are unable to tolerate a person(s), it is due to arrogance.

在十德八则中则礼也,不怨也

(Stated) within the 10 Virtues and 8 precepts, there are the teachings relating to ‘respect’ and ‘do not resent’.

在修之士便非常人

People who cultivate are not ‘normal’ people

故必须以身作则

However, they must lead by setting themselves as a role model

方能立榜以作道证

Only then, are they able to set an example to prove the credibility of the method/path.

此为理也

This is thus the theory.

行者必信,信者必行

People who follow this path/method must believe (in the path/method). And believers of this path/method must follow this path.

此理生等必察

This reasoning, all disciples should sincerely consider.

你不识我,我不识你,我是谁,谁是我?

You don’t recognize me, I don’t recognize you. I am who? Who am I?

有酒来敬济公

When there is wine to pay respects to Jigong

不管为私为公

Don’t care whether it is for ‘personal’ or ‘commercial’ motives

行者信也,信者行也。此理真正

People who walk the path, must believe in the path. People who believe in the path, must walk the path. This is a very true theory.

修者须信,信者须修

People who cultivate must believe, and people who believe must action.

如不信,何以行之

If you do not believe, how can you action

如不行,何以信之

If you do not action, how can you believe?

在修者,为何礼德最重要

Amongst the people who cultivate, why is respect the highest of importance?

乃因有礼方能看到别人,故无自大傲慢之心

It is because when there is respect, will you be able to ‘see’ others, as you will not harbor an arrogant and self-centered heart

这才能众生平等。明乎

Only then, will there be equality amongst all humanity, Understand?

这就是自在了

This is known as freedom.

With the Dek Canon resonating, like a ‘bell fish’.

众兄同门,排班候典与师同庆。善哉!

Fellow disciples of the same sector, lining up to deliver the Canon, celebrating together with the teacher.

九年光阴,仿如昨日

9 years of glory, is no different from yesterday

紫成承愿,扬大教化

ZCK4 has taken on the vow, to promote the society’s culture

以德为邻,承天正气

To keep morality next to the heart, to carry to the skies a sense of righteousness,

共图大同,实为欣哉

to unify the direction/strategy. This is truly admirable!

紫成同德,齐心协力,力勤修真,同门共勉

ZCK has the same morals, working together and assisting each other, to work hard towards cultivating the true path. All members must work hard together.

The success of this Moral Society lies in the ‘heart’ (mindset, determination or desire) of its members.

A lesson filled with laugher is a continuation of a previous causation

十德八则说仁慈

10 virtues 8 precepts speaks of compassion and benevolence

德门方便有缘者

The morality path/gate is a convenient (path) for people with affinity

由善入道学圣人

We enter the path with a charitable (heart/mindset) to learn from the saints.

修行,何谓修行?

Cultivation, what is cultivation?

有修必行,行了方悟

You need to put into action what you have learnt. Once action you will understand and become enlightened only then can you demonstrate

悟了方证

Once you have understood, or are enlightened only then can you demonstrate

这才是真修,明否?

This is what real cultivation is, understand?

故,修不只用口说,必须以行动来证明

Therefore, Cultivation is not only spoken through words, you have to use actions to demonstrate

君子之度,慎言,慎行,此为理也,德也。

The way of a noble person is, careful speech, careful actions, thus is the theory, thus is morality

在德之生此点必须明切

Disciples of morality must understand this point clearly.

别人的错,自己先学,这才是修,

we must firstly learn from other people’s mistake, this is what cultivation is (all about).

光批评他人之过错骄也,妄也,恶也,怨也,望生等明嘹。

Blatantly criticizing other people’s post mistake is arrogance, resentment. Hope that fellow disciples will understand.

佛曰:身、心、口、三业,此理真正。

Buddha stated: Body, Heart/Soul, Mouth are our 3 outlets of activities. This theory is true

以菩萨佛之眼光智慧一切

In the eyes of the bodhisattvas and Buddha, wisdom can foresee ‘all’

一切都是菩萨佛,但若以凡人之眼光来观看一切,皆为是非也

‘All’ are bodhisattvas and Buddha. However if you use eyes of a mortal to view ‘all’. (‘all’) becomes futile.

股,在修之生此理必须明白,不然难成德生也

Therefore, Disciples who are practicing cultivation must understand this theory; otherwise, it will be difficult to become a disciple of morality

紫成已九载,此理生等当知莫忘。

ZCK is already in its 9th year. This theory, fellow disciples should know and not forget.

天尊常言道;行三千里路,学三千里事,此同理也。明乎?

As the divine Sizun (Teacher/Master) often stated: walk 3000 miles, must gain or learn 3000 miles of experience, this is the same theory. Understand?

别人的过错就是自己的老师,明乎?

Other people’s mistake is a lesson for us. Understand?

故,德生须有正念,方能正行,明乎?

Therefore, all fellow disciples must have a righteous mindset, only then can your actions be righteous. Understand?

德,为万物之尊,无德道不成,

Morality, bears the highest respect amongst all living beings. Without morality the path will not exist.

吾以德立教,乃为提醒世人

‘I’ have use morality to establish this Society, in order to remind all mortals,

无理不成道

(That) Without theory you will not achieve the path

无德道不成

(And) Without morality the path will not exist

故,以十德八则为宗旨,以鸾为教

Therefore, utilizing the 10 virtues and 8 precepts as the foundation, and the divine pen as the teaching (medium)

以理为化,扬大教化,此乃原因也

(utilizing) theory/teachings as the culture, to promote the society’s culture. This is thus the ultimate goal.

凡吾门之生,当以身作则,方可扬化

As long as they are disciples of morality, they should set an example of themselves, only then can they promote the culture.

吾本身不正,何来扬大教化,生等切记

If they themselves are not righteous, how do you expect to promote the Society’s culture. All disciples must remember.

孔圣曰:忠恕。

Confucius stated: ‘忠恕’ (‘loyalty’ ‘excuse/pardon/forgive’) – To give loyalty to…

老子曰:崇道

Lao zi stated: The religious path

佛曰:慈悲

Buddha stated: Merciful & Compassion

回主曰:慈恕

Mohammad stated: ‘慈恕’ (‘merciful’ ‘excuse/pardon/forgive’) – To give mercy to…

耶主曰:博爱

Jesus stated: Unconditional love.

皆为人之根本

These are the fundamentals of human beings.

吾以十德八则为教材,此为以人之品格为主旨,作为修士之标准

I have relied on the 10 virtues and 8 precepts as teaching materials, as this was based on the (true) character of a human being, to be used as the benchmark for disciples who practice self-cultivation.

故,有离德无可修也,此德生者,不可不察

Therefore, if you depart from the moral principles, it is not possible to cultivate. For the sake of moral principles, disciples, you must take note.

哈哈!真是有缘千里来相逢,无缘对面不相识

Ha Ha! Those who are fated will meet even though they are thousand of miles apart; those who are not fated to meet will not meet even if they live next door to each other.

吾说有缘千里当相惜,无缘也应来应缘。

For those with affinity to meet even though thousands of miles away must cherish this affinity. Those without affinity are also welcomed to establish this affinity into their lives

哈哈!行三千里路,学三千里事,经一事则长一智,此为理也

If you walk 3000 miles, you must gain 3000 miles of experience. Experience will lead to a leap in wisdom. This is thus the theory

证明此之道理也。明乎?

We need to demonstrate this theory (the 10 Virtues and 8 Precepts) Understand?

能明此理这才是修。

Cultivation is being able to understand this theory.

和融道生紫气开

The path towards peace and harmony gives rise to the ‘purple’ flair/air

尚有不足可随缘

If there are still (things) not to your satisfaction you can allow nature to take its course.

道理万卷为培才

The reasons written in thousands of scriptures are to develop the true talent.

济公门下无独裁。哈哈!

As Jigong’s disciples, there are no dictators. Ha Ha

独一则无缘可言。明乎?

Being ‘No.1’ may result in having no interpersonal skill. Understand?

行事以十德八则为宗旨,

Always rely on the 10 virtues and 8 precepts as the fundamentals or basis for self-improvement,

其他随缘即可

Everything else can let nature take its course.

不修己何以渡人

If you don’t cultivate yourself, how do you intend to help others?

Those who seek the path by ‘seeing’ (visual perception) will not find the path

依德寻源心当诚

We utilize morality to search for our original (pure) heart

十德八则作归宿

10 virtues 8 precepts becomes our fundamentals

以假修真立真根

Through falseness, we cultivate the truth 9true path) to establish the ‘real’ roots.

以见寻道,乃执也

Utilizing vision (visual perception) to look for the path, is thus attachment/materialistic,

佛言道:若以色见佛,永不见佛真身,

Buddha stated: If you are using ‘color’ (physical/materialistic eyes) to ‘see’ Buddha, you will never be able to see Buddha’s real form.

此乃理“法”也。

This is thus the theory behind this ‘dharma’

道本自然,本无其事,何来执见?

The path was originally natural, originally (the path) was not ‘material’ in itself, (therefore) how did it materialize/take form?

道,理也,见,理乎?

Path, is thus a theory. Perception (vision), is it theory too?

德门乃以十德八则为宗旨,

Moral society utilizes its 10 virtues and 8 precepts as its as its fundamentals,

一德为孝,二德为悌,三德为忠,四德为信,五德为礼,六德为义,

First virtue is Filial piety, second virtue is brotherly love, third virtue is loyalty, fourth virtue is courtesy, sixth is justice

这首六德,人之根本,在德之生莫忘

These are the 6 virtues, the fundamentals of human beings. Disciples of Morality must not forget.

汝说有理说不清

If you say that you have reasoning, you will never be able to clarity

吾说有道天太平

Is I say I have the path, heavens will be at peace.

德门以德天合一

The moral society amalgamates morality and the heavens into one

莫把尘世作天坪。

Do not allow this mortal earth to become the heaven’s ‘level ground’.

处世道理。明乎?

The ‘life skills’ theory. Understand?

明则行,

(If you) Understand (you) must act or put into action,

行则悟

(once you) Understand (you) must think/analyze/become enlightened,

悟则证这为理也。明乎?

(once you) think/analyze/become enlightened (you) must demonstrate. This is thus the theory, Understand?

Utilizing the moral principles to establish the standard/benchmark to promote the society

十德八则来和唱

10 virtues 8 precepts, we sing

一心归德八则守

(Disciples who have) wholeheartedly accepted morality must uphold the Eight precepts.

鸾门圣洁正道场

From a holy Divine Gate lies a righteous (i.e. reputable) Moral Society venue.

鸾门圣洁,五行乾坤,入德扬化

Holy Morality Gates, five rounds of ‘QianKun’ , Enter morality to promote culture,

勤修真根,天人合一

Diligently cultivate the ‘real’ roots, (In order for) The heaven and Earth to become as one,

正己修真,鸾门立宗,崇道唯德

Must self-cultivate the true (path), Moral Gates is (used to) establish a goal, Religious path being (in line with) the moral principles.

行以仁义,慈悲博爱,慈恕正道,为立心本

(where the) Actions must incorporate benevolence & justice/fairness, compassion, mercy and unconditional love, compassion & forgiveness righteous paths, in order to establish (our) original pure hearts/souls

今观鸾门,各自为政,多数己异,离道离德,遂求迷信,而忘德则

Current observation of (this) Moral Gates, everybody is after ‘positions’ from self, departing from the path and departing from morality, walking towards a path of superstition/blind faith, and forgetting about the moral principles and regulations.

实为妄也,五教崇德,不倚不偏,实乃中庸,即无为也,

Which is rather absurd, 5 religions respect morality, without reliance and without prejudice, This is known as the ‘middle path’, and is thus non-attachment/materialistic*

进入德门,而不知道,然不知德,实为妄修

(Those who have) Entered the door into the learning venue of morality, and do not know the path, will naturally not understand morality. This is really absurd cultivation.

修为何物,乃正己也,在鸾门生,不得不察,十德八则,道之根本

What is cultivation? It is to correct  oneself. Disciples of moral society must bear in mind, 10 virtues 8 precepts, is the fundamental path on self-cultivation.

刘子有心把德扬

Disciple Liu has the heart to promote morality

振志学圣立榜样

Exercise your will to learn from the saints to establish an example (of oneself)

熊体壮壮无等闲

To be like a ‘Body of a bear’, strong and without limits.

弟同心当辉扬

(If) All disciples were to work together; the outlook will be very bright.

同心方能同德

If the heart (of all disciples) is the same, it will lead to the morals (of everyone) being the same

同德方能同行。

(Having) The same morals will lead to the direction/goals/actions being the same.

上敬下尊(上下尊敬)明乎?立德之本,莫过于心

Respect must be given to those above and below you. Understand. This is the fundamentals of moral society; do not let it go past the heart (conscience)

方法归心,十德八则,立德之本。

Thousands of dharma (teachings) comes from the heart, 10 virtues 8 precepts, is the fundamentals of moral society

To support the society and to promote morality (we) must learn from Ji Gong

以身作则四唯宏

Utilizing ourselves as examples to (promote) on a grand scale

孝悌忠信尽人道

Filial piety, brotherly love, loyalty, sincerity, is the path for humans

慈悲为怀醒世钟

Compassion & mercy used to care (for others) will awaken the ‘world’s clock

墨上寻法难尽穷

If you seek dharma in the ‘ink’ (written scriptures), there is no shortage (of dharma)

以德会意上乘功

Through the moral principles the knowledge will increase

闲言非语不着道

Gossip and nonsense is not part of the path of cultivation.

兴来德门与道同

Those who willfully come to the Moral Society should follow the same path.

一经二悟三求证

First, (gain) experience. Second, think/analyze. Third, seek proof/justification.

四修五参六从真七戒八省九参禅十方世界与汝同

Fourth, cultivate. Fifth, consult. Sixth, Form the truth. Seventh, Discipline/retrain from. Eighth, Review. Ninth. Analyze whether the mortal world is the same as you.

听、悟、参、修、证。解

Listen, think, consult, cultivate, prove. Explain.

许。三句。常持圣典…

Xu.3 verses. Consult the canon frequently…

德典不但须念,更须心悟体会,起赞;超凡化真

The De canon should not only be recited, but should also understands and be aware of the content. Start reciting; Abnormality becomes the truth/real

修道者,以何为修?

To those who practice self-cultivation, to explain what is cultivation?

何为平常心?

What is the ‘original/ordinary heart’? What are we cultivating for? 平常心. 抄。{Cultivating your true nature self.}

这就是“谁是我,我是谁”,这个“我”就是“平常心”。明乎?

This is the meaning of ‘who am I, I am who?’ This ‘I’ is the ‘“ original” ordinary self/heart’. Understand?

有理便是道,有道便是理。故“道理”。明乎?

If there is theory there is a path/way, if there is a path/way there is a theory. Therefore ‘reasoning’ is a combination of theory and path. Understand?

The pure incense swirls in the air through the divine and sentient beings

水火相融志相同

The combination of fire and water is similar to our will & ideas (i.e. contradiction)

祖德后续参德教

The moral ancestors from the past has continued to pay their respects to the moral society

师徒同行扬教宏

Teachers and students ‘walking the same path’ (cooperating) to promote the society/teaching to a grand scale.

行德,三生方得此身

Act in line with the moral principles, (and) you will be able to maintain a ‘body’ in your next 3 lives (i.e. you will still become a human, not a ghost or spirit or insect)

行教,三生方得此证

Act inline with the teachings, (and) you will be able to maintain the ‘proof’ in your next 3 lives

德乃万物之道,包万像之理

Morality is the path for all creatures, and incorporates thousands of theories/reasoning,

故有藏于心行于世之说

Therefore, the saying of ‘Morality resides in the heart, and to be used in community’ exists

以德入修为道证之根本

Utilizing moral principles to enter into cultivation is demonstration of the original path

故有离德便无修可言

Therefore, you cannot be viewed as cultivating al all if you depart from the moral principles.

行者,三生之结据,

Individuals who act as such (i.e. undertake actions that depart from moral principles) will be to able to end the next 3 lives.

望生等珍之。哈哈哈!

Hope that students will cherish (this). Ha HaHa!

紫来祥瑞,成教定基

ZCK comes in good fortune, (by) establishing the teachings to stabilize the foundation

阁务进业,本愿承志

The progress of the Khor’s mission & occupation, with an original wish is to support the ideals (i.e. moral principles)

关怀众生,云被万里,长受天恩,

Care for all sentient beings, spanning over thousands for miles (away), continually accepting the heavenly grace

是为德教。

For the sake of the moral society.

阁长,行大德无为

Khor President, will act in line with the great morals and non-attachment.

紫成之责,阁务之扩,以上为基

ZCK’s responsibility, (is to) broaden the Khor’s mission, utilizing the above as your foundation.

How do you intend to proceed with the formation of the federation?

First, discuss with the internal members of ZCK, after that discuss with other ‘Khors’ (Moral Societies).

内部商议就为德门立基,基者,以德扬化,

A discussion within internal members is to help Moral society to establish a foundation. The foundation will utilize Morality to promote the culture,

此基可固否乃视紫成之定力

Whether this foundation will solidify or not (i.e. succeed or not), will depend on ZCK’s stability.

此担子不止汝肩上。(全)

This burden is not borne by you on your shoulder alone (it’s borne by every member)

莫怕前途不明,只怕决心不定。可。

Do not fear that you do not understand the path, only fear that your resolve is not absolute.

Originally it is such that (things/matters) would come naturally

济世为怀德门开

The moral gates open upon the need to help society.

公务旨在扬教化

The official mission is centered on promoting the society’s culture/teachings.

降鸾紫成来培才

The divine pen has arrived at ZCK in order to develop talent.

能悟道理方是圆

The ability to interpret/understand moral principles/theories is indeed a ‘well-rounded’ (individual)

员中无缺作方便

(Like) A circular object without any dents/holes/obstructions is convenient

便是此缘有今身

Convenience is such that you have this life’s fate

身在德门修融圆

(As your) Life is at the moral gates (it is best) to cultivate harmony.

一心为德无有二

Focus your heart on morality, do not waver.

三四未达不到耳

Do not allow distractions/nonsense reach your ears

五六不全多加力

At 50-60%, it is still incomplete, put in more effort

七八时分便知力

When you reach 70-80%, you will know the strength

九十方知还一二

At 90-100%, you will know to return back to steps 1 and 2.

遇事不急方有道

When faced with an issue, there is a path when you do not panic

行事用慧理明嘹

You must apply wisdom, logic and understanding in everything that you do

教务本是清楚事

The society’s mission was originally a very clear matter

奈何小我作飞绕

(However) Nothing has been done about the ‘small me’ that has been causing mischief

今时德子应知绕

This time, moral disciples should know quite clearly

无私便是无怨了

Selflessness is the result of having ‘no complaints’

有了方能修真根

Once (selflessness is) obtained, then it is possible to cultivate the ‘true roots’.

真根真我玄妙妙

True roots, true ‘me’– how magnificent.

The amount of successful milestones achieved, is able to create a ‘morality form’

阁龄虽浅具实在

Even through this Khor’s is still young, the credibility exists

集志一心为教材

Focus all your ideals together to become the teaching materials

众心不动究竟乐

The unwavering heart of sentient beings is absolute happiness

之乎理也教化用

Only caring for reasoning and the use of it for the society’s culture

方拓教化应天命

Effort to open (people) up to enlightenment is of the divine calling

为者无为大德者

To (do things) for the sake of others bearing a ‘non-attached’ heart is a moral individual

德门无怨尽是客

Moral society does not discriminate, all are guests.

教下无迷皆理可

The teachings do not (teach) superstition, only theories & reasoning.

建址留业合时宜

The development of this work comes at just the right timing.

功达三界受金结。

The success will reach 3 realms with ‘golden results’ (i.e. ‘with flying colors’)

Guard the rules when establishing morality

坛前一心

Everyone must cooperate (when standing) in front of the altar

师慈柳示

Compassionate Divine Master has delivered his teachings through the Divine Pen

兄弟同心

Brothers & Sisters must work together as one.

入坛心当清

When & entering/coming into the altar, your heart must be pure/clear

随鸾进定明

Allow the Divine Pen to (naturally) flow and enter a solid state of understanding

意在沙盘中

The meaning is (written) in the sand ‘pan’ table.

定神通玄明

Stabilize your mind to transmit the mysterious wisdom

柳动心不动

The Divine Pen moves, but your heart does not (move)

心神自清定

You heart and mind remains clear and stable (pure and calm)

融神当不鸾

Merge with you mind, do not be distracted

柳慧自觉明

The wisdom through the divine pen will naturally awaken the understanding.

行善不记心

When doing charity do not keep a (mental) not6e in your heart

只为人间情

(You only do charity) For the sake of other peoples well being

若为作功德

If you do charity to gain merits (self-gratification)

阴德更盛情

Evil deeds are more gratifying

有德方成大慈悲

If there is morality, there is great compassion and mercy

迎来即是弥陀被

Attracted towards (you) will be the Buddha’s ‘blanket’

三世因果此熟缘

3 Lifetimes of course and effect has matured in this life’s situations

足踏轻云极乐回

where you have taken the first step onto ‘cloud 9’, towards nirvana and everlasting peaceful land.

春雨沫土如甘露,(此乃道也)

The spring rain cleanses the earth like sweet dew. “This is thus the path”

芳花香木皆道途,(平等也)

Aromatic flowers and fragrant wood lines the pathway. “This is thus equality”

挥笔沙中话与众,(广结善缘)

The wave of the (divine) Pen on the sand pan communicates messages to all. “Broaden your reach to develop charitable relationships.

字中玄机醒德徒。(扬大教化)

The mystery (meaning) within the messages is to awaken (all) disciples. “Promote the society’s teaching/culture”

哈哈哈!德理明乎?

Ha Ha Ha! Do you understand the theories of morals?

说来一半,一半说来,再。

Talking only one half, and the other half will talk later.

珍惜此春天之沫。明乎?再说。

Must cherish (appreciate) the spring’s rain. Understand.

俗语:一年之季在于春。

Old saying: Throughout the year the best season resides in Spring.

在修之生更应如此。

Cultivates must be like this even more.

此乃道也。

This is thus the path.

哈哈!无执箸就是道了。

Ha Ha! The “path” has No attachment.

白沙空空

The white sand is Empty….

理在其中

(However The (real) theories are within..

柳笔重重

The divine pen isHeavy

鸾意重重

(However) The meaning of the messages is important

以德扬教

Through morality (we) promote the society/teachings

人道始蒙

The human path starts off vague and hazy.

一心为教

(If we) focus on supporting the society/teachings,

敦睦圆融

Sincere peace and harmony (will result).

德教重圆融

Moral Society puts importance into harmony

教下觉大同

Through the teachings (we) recognize great unity

紫心归德教

The ‘Purple Heart’ stems from the moral teachings

成事理高颂

High praise (is given to those who follow) the successful theory

阁务尽担同

The same should be given to the ‘Khor’s’ (Moral Society’s mission

此生即幻影

This life is but a mirage/dream

去留在道中

Coming and Going is part of the path

一切如是缘

Everything is as per nature’s affinity (‘yuan’)

随心自转动

Allow the heart (mindset) to naturally correct itself

今生得此身

To be able to obtain such a body in this life.

愿惜当中缘

Hope that (you) cherish this affinity, ‘yuan’.

定在心中

Stability is (obtained) in the heart/soul

不在口中

Not coming from the mouth (i.e. people self-claiming achievements)

静在神中

Peace is (obtained) in the mind

不是空空

Not in the emptiness (i.e. air and surroundings)

禅坐之功,实无我之观

The effects of meditation, does not have the ‘Me/I’ perception

观者自心

Perception individuals care for their feelings/desires

心者自在

Peace comes to those who are aware of their hearts/souls

在者在明

Individuals who are ‘here’ will understand

明者在定

Individuals who understand will (become more) stable

禅者心也。

This is thus the heart/soul of a Zen individual (meditation student/individual)

生于观心,心者何物?

(When) Sitting (in meditation) we are reflecting on our hearts/souls. What are ‘heart’ individuals?

心,性也,自性,本性,本来,如来,真正。

‘Heart’ or mindset, is character, a person’s character, original character, originality, past, real (pure character).

意识为后性,天性,识“心”也。

Awareness is the post-character (subconscious), divine character, thus known as the awareness ‘heart’ (mindset)

识心何来?平时何来?

How did the ‘awareness heart’ come about?

平时从六根而来。

Normally, it derives from the ‘6 roots’(6 roots, as mentioned in previous translations, refer to as human’s senses, touch, feel, smell taste, thoughts and sight)

禅,单心也,无二则无妄,不执箸,不执心,这才是真正

Zen is thus the Singular heart, (there is) no double standards, no absurdity, No physical attachment, No emotional attachment. This is the original and true ‘self’

灵重于纯,纯者无二,单一可数

The spirit is heavy, as it is pure. Pure individuals do not have ‘two’ (do not divert, but focused) mindsets. Only one can be counted.

此乃这“我”之玄妙。

This is thus the mystery behind the word ‘Me/I’

是真亦假,似假亦真,

Look real, but is also take, Looks take but is also real

故,禅乃一心无二,方能作禅,明乎?

Therefore, Zen/meditation is to focus (you mind on one thing) and not waver/divert (to a second thing, only such is it actual meditation and Zen,

惜缘此觉更盛情。

Cherish the opportunity that this awakening has brought about for further gratification

道途本如此

The path was originally like this

济公为善持

Compassion is why Ji Gong (is here)

活着为一事

Living is for one purpose

佛心由德始

The Buddha’s heart originates from morality.

生命不是为这个[我]

The meaning of life is for the purpose of becoming enlightened.

生命的意义是为着觉悟

The meaning of life is for the purpose of becoming enlightened.

了生死,渡己渡人,这方是意义

To surpass life and death, to elevate ourselves and elevate others, this is what the meaning (of life) is.

先看他人,才能看到自己。无有他人之存在便无 [我] 之存在。明乎?

First you look at others, before you can see yourself. If other people do not exist, ‘I’ do not exist.

他人有成就,自己才有成就

If others are progressing. You are progressing.

这个假我,真是我本性

This is the take ‘Me’. The real ‘Me’ is your true original self (the pure self)

修道从慈悲开始

The path to cultivation starts from compassion,

因有了慈悲才能看到他人

Because when there is compassion, only then will you be able to ‘see’ others

因看到他人,方能看到自己,此乃是“智慧”

Because you can see others, only then can you ‘see’ yourself, this is what known as ‘wisdom’

有了智慧才能觉悟

Once you have ‘wisdom’, only then will you become enlightened.

其说修道即是修心养性,吾说吃饭也是道。自然乎?

They say that cultivation is to cultivate the mind and discipline the character; ‘I’ say that eating is also cultivation. Natural right?

自然即是“道”

(Being) Natural is also cultivation/the path.

慈悲是始于于内心,

Compassion originates from the inner soul/mind

不是在他人。自然乎?

It does not originates from others.

故,古人说:人之初,性本善。这就是本来了

Therefore, as per the old saying: ‘At the beginnings of humankind, their character was originally virtuous/charitable.’ This is thus the original.

十德不是教他人,十德是修己

The 10 virtues is not used to teach others, the 10 virtues is used to cultivate/develop oneself

懂的得如做人

To understand the correct way of living life.

一个为内,一个为外,实为一

The Ten Virtues are our accountable attributes towards external parties whilst the Eight Precepts are relating to our personal behavior.  In reality, it is but one combined set of Codes of Conduct for self-cultivation.

Glossary & Endnotes:

1. Canon = refers to the specific Mantra chanting by disciples and followers of Moral Uplifting Societies.

The Canon of Dejiao德教心典 refers to the standard or approved rule of Moral uplifting and self-cultivation

2. DEJIAO refers to a multi-faith Movement, which spreads the teachings of the creators of the five great faiths, Taoism, Confucianism, Buddhism, Islam and Christianity. The common tenet of these faiths is Morality!

DEJIAO is a Society and on educational institution aimed at uplifting the morality of the contemporary society

3. Moral Principles of Moral Uplifting Societies refer to the Ten Virtues and the Eight Percepts.


The Ten Virtues – The accountable attributes of human nature & social interpersonal principles.

十章 - 人的本分与处世的宗旨

Ten Virtues are the practice of:

  1. Filial Piety 孝;
  2. Brotherly Love 悌;
  3. Loyalty 忠;
  4. Sincerity信;
  5. Courtesy礼;
  6. Integrity 义;
  7. Honesty 廉;
  8. Modesty 耻;
  9. Benevolence 仁;
  10. Wisdom 智


The Eight Main PreceptsCode of conduct and the action of Integrity

  1. Do not cheat 不欺
  2. Do not commit falsehood 不伪
  3. Do not be greedy 不贪
  4. Do not have concealed motives/preposterous 不妄
  5. Do not be arrogant 不骄
  6. Do not be negligent 不怠
  7. Do not aggrieved 不怨
  8. Do not impart hatred on others 不恶


ZCK refers to the Zee Cheng Khor Moral Society Inc.

Khor = a Chinese word which refers to moral society venue of learning and meeting place for practicing “Dejiao

The  8 Precepts form part of the Moral Principles of all Moral Uplifting Societies as per Endnote 2 above.

The 10 virtues from part of the Moral Principles of all Moral Uplifting Societies as per Endnote 2 above.

Cultivation = a term used for those people who follow the path of up righteousness, maintaining self-discipline and uphold morality.

Freedom = free from sufferings, worries, worldly attachments which may lead to end of rebirth

Bell Fish = is a term used for a large piece of wood use to hit the large bell. Piece of wood is usually in the shape of a fish. Hence ‘bell fish’. In other words  resonating very loudly

Devine pen = A tool (normally a willow stick) used to transcribe messages on wooden plate slightly covered either with sprinkles of water or shallow sand.

鸾门(‘Key’ Gates as in divine ‘Key’) is taken as equal to ‘德门’

无为=  refers to (direct translation) ‘Nothing For’. ‘Nothing For’ is when you are seeking for an ‘empty heart’. In other words, a heart that does not have any attachment or materialistic desires, ‘non-attachment/materialistic’

Ji Gong = refers to the main Divine Master revered and honored by most Dejiao or our Moral Uplifting Societies.

Awaken the ‘world’s clock to indicate,: Through the acts of compassion, mercy and care, it will act like an alarm clock that will awaken the people of this world who are still ‘asleep’ and continuously chasing the worldly attachments, power, arrogance, ego, their materialistic ventures/rat race etc
