今天分享一首Green Day的《Boulevard of Broken Dreams》。

今天来首绿日经典的歌曲，来自他们2004年的专辑《American Idiot 》。后来也作为单曲发行了。而这首歌讲述的主角是专辑中另一首歌曲标题中的人物，也是这张专辑的核心人物——“Jesus Of Suburbia（郊区的耶稣）”。截至2009年9月1日，这首歌的销量超过了500万张，是绿日乐队在公告牌排行榜上最成功的歌曲，在100首热门歌曲中排名第二。这张专辑还获得了2006年格莱美奖的“年度最佳唱片”。

这是一首关于孤独者和梦想破灭的歌曲。故事中的主角Jesus来到了一个陌生的城市，这是他来的第一晚。他在城市的街道上漫无目的地游荡，无事可做，无处可去。离开家乡来到这个陌生城市后，他发现他被陌生人包围，在一个陌生的环境中完全孤独。他意识到自己无人可依，这也让他情绪崩溃，几近疯狂。

而这首歌的标题是根据Gottfried Helnwein的著名作品起的。绿日主唱Billie Joe Armstrong在采访中说到他实际上看到了Helnwein在1948年拍摄的James Dean。“有一张詹姆斯·迪恩(James Dean)走在纽约的老照片，照片下面写着'Boulevard of Broken Dreams（破碎梦想大道）’。这是他的一张很棒的照片，所以这也是我给他取了这个名字的原因。”

他们在创作这首歌的时候想要摆脱朋克乐队的标签，打算参照披头士《生命中的一天》(A Day in the Life)，使用各种各种交响声音结尾。但制作人罗布·卡瓦洛坚决反对。并对他们说：“你们是一个摇滚乐队，所以我们还是用吉他来演奏吧。所以我们只能让Billie来弹奏他所能弹奏的最难、最快的和弦。我们只是告诉他要尽他所能。然后在混音的时候我们不断的喊调大音量，最后用这种方式完成的。”
