“for a song”不要翻译成“为了一首歌”，外国人会感觉很困惑

在英语口语中，短语for a song表示“特别便宜”

Jim bought a computer for a song last week.

吉姆上个星期买的电脑特别便宜。

A: Mrs.Smith bought a lot of clothes for a song.

史密斯夫人买了好多衣服，都特别便宜。

B: Well,she really is a good bargainer.

嗯，她真的很能砍价。

在形容某种物品“一文不值”时

可以用短语not worth a penny

相关词汇：

two-for-one

买一送一

意思是“以一件物品的价格买了两件商品”，就相当于“买一送一”

This shampoo is on a two-for-one sale.

这种洗发水买一送一。

A: There is a two-for-one offer at the nearby supermarket.

附近的超市正在举行买一送一活动。

这真是一个好机会。

“买一送一”还可以说成“buy one get one free”

在表示“打几折”时，中英文中的数字是不一样的

如中文中的“打八折”，

在英语中则是 a 20% discount
