上海人，书香之家，大学学历，英语翻译。曾受教于王应敬、王宣明、张锦标等多位书画家。近十年来，以牡丹为专题，专攻洛阳牡丹小写意画法，用“工笔”写意的理念体现牡丹的神、韵、色、姿、情。牡丹作品曾多次展出并受邀举办牡丹专题讲座。现为上海牡丹画院副院长、画师，上海牡丹画报编辑，上海中华书画协会会员，上海海派牡丹研究院成员。
Liu Dian
From Shanghai, Comes from a teacher's family. With a Bachelor degree in hand, Translator. She got very important help from such painters as Ying-jing Wang, Xuan-ming Wang, and Jin-biao Zhang. Since the last ten years, she has focused on a special style of peony painting by combining the claborate with the freehand painting styles. With the help of the theory of fine brushwork, her works are success in expressing the peony's sole, charm, color, beauty, and emotion. Her peony paintings have been for many times exhibited and herself was invited to give lectures on peony painting. She is now Vice President of Shanghai Peony Painting Institute, Painter, editer of Shanghai Peony illustrated, a memter of Shanghai Calligraphy and Painting Association, and a member of the Research Institute of Peony in Shanghai Style.

刘滇自幼酷爱美术，孜孜不倦，每当看到刘滇在上海黄浦图书馆、上海植物园等地举办画展，都十分引人注目，在画展现场她潇洒挥笔画牡丹时，总觉得她画的牡丹别具一格，形态生动，酣畅伶俐，色彩明亮，夺人眼球。她认为牡丹的高贵气质与女人有相同之处，当然要画出牡丹的气质，画出她的神韵来，让人百看不厌！刘滇画的牡丹深受广大书画者的喜爱和欣赏，她笔下的牡丹花灵动秀美，奔放稳重，千姿百态，笔墨间不失文人趣味，她的画技独特，用小写意兼工笔画法在生宣纸上把内心的情感世界与自然物像交融，留下色姿得香韵的自然轨迹。她经常去大自然中写生，观察、寻找灵感。她的绘画作品让观赏者获得心灵上的愉悦，雅俗共赏，进入牡丹花园的美妙意境。其画中呈现了阴阳、虚实、疏密、浓淡、开合和呼应等元素，在绘画艺术中表现出丰富的哲学内涵，她画出了牡丹的雍容华贵、国色天香、灵性之美，也画出了生命元素和美丽的色彩！墨韵生香 纸本水墨 2008
