Every morning, I get up at 5:00, and then switch on my computer to visit BBC News for up-to-the-minute news. And as a routine, 30 minutes will always be spent listening to BBC World Service.

早上五点起床，第一件事：打开电脑，上BBC网站，点开“world service”开始做30分钟的新闻精听。当然，如果是初级阶段的英文学习者，还没法脱离文本听直播，那也可以通过《可可英语网》寻找到有文本的听力练习材料。
我自己练习的是美音，大学、研究生阶段一直也都是收听VOA新闻，观看美国电影，但听习惯美音后，听英音，竟有了生涩之感。所以，现在转而听英国电台BBC，主要是为了训练自己适应各种口音的能力。
OK，做完30分钟听力后，我会再读一则新闻。
想给大家推荐一个小小的方法：设定“topic”，比如，美国大选，比如叙利亚战争，通过读至少十则“related stories”，各个击破，积累相关表达。
什么意思呢？很多重大新闻，一定都会有持续跟踪报道，找到10则相关新闻，非常容易。实际上，BBC每一则新闻最后，都列有“related stories”。
怎么做？以周为单位，我会结合热点，找出一个自己感兴趣的新闻话题。然后，大量阅读相关英文报道，至少10篇以上。这时候，我就不会限于仅仅阅读BBC新闻了，也会去Economist, the Times等网站，找到相关报道去看。
大概认真阅读完10则英文报道后，我会将相关词汇，在笔记本上一一整理出来。如果你不知道如何翻得专业，（很多时候，我们阅读英文都没问题，但转换成汉语目标语时，通常发现找对应词很难），这时，你可以去浏览各大中文网站，找到关于该话题的相关报道，就能找到汉语对译词了。
整理完以后，一定用心将这些词汇反复操练直到反复掌握。
最后，我会进行“输出”练习。我一直强调，语言学习，一定是“输入”和“输出”结合的。两件事：用英文“写”出自己对新闻的理解及感受；用英文大声“说”或者“播报”这则新闻。
如果你发现，自己能够用积累的词汇顺利地将这则新闻素材“说出”或“写出”的时候，你的学习才算是有效。否则，建议你再去阅读，再去复习你积累的词汇。
这种方法，我自己一直坚持，分享给大家。

Kyrgyzstan plane crash: Dozens die as Turkish cargo jet hits homes
A Turkish cargo plane flying from Hong Kong has crashed into a village in Kyrgyzstan, killing all four crew and at least 33 people on the ground.
The Boeing 747 operated by ACT Airlines crashed as it was about to land in fog at Manas airport, 25km (15 miles) north of the capital, Bishkek.
At least 15 buildings were destroyed in the village outside the airport, with a number of children among the dead.
Flight TK6491 was to have stopped at Manas en route to Istanbul in Turkey.
Kyrgyz authorities have declared a day of mourning for Tuesday.
ACT is an Istanbul-based airline operating under the name MyCargo is believed to have been about 14 years old.
Deputy PM Muhammetkaly Abulgaziev said on state TV: "According to preliminary information, the plane crashed due to a pilot error."
One witness, Baktygul Kurbatova, told local media: "I woke up because of a bright red light outside. I couldn't understand what was happening.
"It turns out the ceiling and the walls were crashing in on us. I was so scared but I managed to cover my son's face with my hands so that debris would not fall on him."
Another resident, named only as Tajikan, said she heard "a roar and (what felt) like an earthquake".
"Many people were sleeping, everything around was burning. One of the parts of the aircraft fell on our neighbour's house. She and her whole family died."
At least 15 people, including six children, were injured, the health ministry said.
ACT said the plane had no record of technical faults and had not encountered problems during its flight.
One of its two flight recorders has been recovered, the Kyrgyz prime minister's office said.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called his Kyrgyz counterpart, Almazbek Atambayev, on Monday to express his sadness at the loss of life.
