Examples

求方程解的过程叫解方程。

3、General steps to follow when solving linear equation in one variable:

(1) remove the denominators;

(2) remove brackets;

(3) transposition;

(4) get an equation in the form ax=b(a≠0);

(5) divide both sides by the coefficient of the unknown and get the solution x=b/a.

解一元一次方程的一般步骤：

（1）去分母；

（2）去括号；

（3）移项；

（4）将方程化为ax=b(a≠0)的形式；

（5）两边同除以未知数的系数，得到方程的解x=b/a

4、General steps to follow when solving a word problem:

(1) Look for the unknown quantity and use a letter to represent the unknown;

(2) Write down an equation;

(3) Solve the equation to find the solution;

(4) Check the validity of the solution and write the answer.

列方程解应用题的一般步骤：

（1）设未知数；

（2）列方程；

（3）解方程；

（4）检验作答。
