1 Are young people in China independent?

It's kind of hard to generalize, but I guess on the whole, I wouldn't really say so, no, largely because we tend to rely a lot on our parents for things like money and stuff. But saying that, young people are now starting to get more independent.

(注意讲话的时候，不要直接说no,这样听起来不自然哦)

2 Do children have much freedom nowadays?

No, I wouldn't say they do, simply because they have classes right through the day, and if that isn't bad enough（承上启下的作用）, they're given piles of homework to do every night, so they have hardly any free time at all. 

3 Is it more important for children to study or play?

It goes without saying that both are extremely important, but I guess I'd probably say that playing is slightly more important, due to the fact that children can actually learn a lot when they're playing and having fun.

4 What are the differences in the things that children do now and what they did in the past?

Well, I'd say there are quite a few differences, one of the biggest being that nowadays kids spend a crazy amount of time on the computer, whereas in the past, they hardly touched computers, mainly because not that many families had computers back then. So I guess that would be the main difference(承上启下的作用), and maybe another would be that more and more children nowadays have mobile phones, which they seem to use mainly for playing games on, and this , of course, didn't used to be the case in the past, because mobiles have only become mainstream in about the last 15 years or so. 

(像这种过去现在比较题是经常考的哦，注意时态的使用，注意口语化词汇的使用，如15 years or so 15年左右，而不是15years;也要注意词汇的替代，用了a crazy amount of time， 而不是a lot of time)

5 What are the qualities of a good student?

Well firstly, I'd say that one of the most important qualities is having enthusiasm for the subject they're studying, because if you think about it, it's very difficult to do well in something unless you're really interested in it. So that's one thing(承上启下的作用), and I suppose another quality of good students would be that they tend to do more than what's asked of them. So in other words（连接词）, if their homework is to read 20 pages of a certain book, they might try to read 30 pages, or even the whole book（举了一个更细节的例子）!
