进口水果多系国产
According to Yi Ganjun, president of Guangdong Fruit Industry Association, most imported fruits sold in China are really domestic produce, Jinyang News Express reports. Yi said only mangosteen, durian, rambutan and New Zealand kiwi are imported fruits, while other fruits such as American Sunkist-branded fruits and 'American Red Delicious' apples are domestic products that vendors label with foreign stickers. The labels can be purchased online or wholesale markets for 0.03 yuan each. Fruits with foreign labels are then sold at prices several times higher than domestic products. For example, a Hainan mango costs 15 yuan in Guangzhou, but with an 'Australia mango' sticker on it, the price soared to between 38 yuan and 48 yuan.

Lawmakers released a draft of a law yesterday banning deliberate transmission of sexually transmitted diseases to others for public opinion, Xinhua reports. People with STDs who knowingly and intentionally spread the diseases will be subject to civil liabilities and could face criminal charges. The draft also makes clear that people with STDs should take necessary protective measure to avoid transmitting their diseases and that medical centers involved in diagnosing and treating STDs should not reject for any reason patients who show symptoms of STDs.

A red dwarf star 20 light-years away is again providing hints that it hosts the first definitively habitable planet outside our Solar System, BBC reports. The planet Gliese 581d is at the colder outer edge of the 'Goldilocks zone' in which liquid water can be sustained. Now a study in Astrophysical Journal Letters suggests its atmosphere may keep things warm enough for water. French researchers have run computer simulations of the planet's atmosphere, arguing that it is likely to contain high concentrations of carbon dioxide. They contend that conditions could be suitable for oceans of liquid water as well as clouds and rainfall. But Gliese 581d's denser air and dim red light from its host star would make for a murky environment that would be toxic to humans.

Many of the makeup products that Canadian women apply every day contain a number of toxic heavy metals – and some contain arsenic and lead levels that exceed Health Canada recommended limits, CTV News reports. That's what environmental advocacy group Environmental Defence found when it submitted 49 makeup products to lab testing. 'These heavy metals have been very strongly linked by doctors to serious human disease. So it's very important to try to limit our exposure,' said Rick Smith, executive director of Environmental Defence.

The Cosmetic Physicians Society of Australasia is warning people about the dangers of buying injectable substances over the Web after a woman suffered horrific and painful side effects from a DIY lip injection, the Herald Sun reports. The Australian woman, who asked not to be named, released photos of her freakish fat lips and infected blotches on her face after getting a friend to jab her with products bought online. Her recent experiment with a dermal filler designed to pump up her lips went horribly wrong as they ballooned two weeks later. Abscesses appeared on her face six weeks after the injection. The woman, who is in her early 30s and is being professionally treated with antibiotics and drainage, has asked for the graphic pictures to be released as a public health alert. It is unclear at this stage whether she will fully recover.

Jaron Mitchell and Jason Held have developed a full-bodied brew they believe can stand up to the trials of imbibing in space, including swelling tongues that diminish the sense of taste. While tests showed the current recipe works for space, more experiments are planned – including the actual impact on the body of alcohol drunk in low gravity, given that even plane flights change how alcohol is absorbed.
