"高考"可以直接用拼音：Gaokao；
当然，高考即高等教育入学考试或大学入学考试，因此，还可以说：
National Higher Education Entrance Examination
或
National College Entrance Examination
第二种说法简单，也是最常用的，简称为 NCEE。

美国，英国高考是什么？
to 美国高考有两种形式：ACT 和 SAT，两种形式大同小异，考生可以根据自己的情况选择；
ACT = the American College Test
SAT = the Scholastic Aptitude Test
* scholastic aptitude：学术/习能力
英国高考叫A-Level，全称为：General Certificate of Education Advanced Level (普通教育证书A级考试)，所以，还可以简称为 GCE；大学入学最低标准是通过四或五门科目考试，其中至少两门要达到 A Level (高级水平)。
