10月29日，由著名艺术教育界拿督斯里杨忠勇教授博士局绅率领沙巴艺术学院，沙巴基金局大学学院和亚洲旅游国际学院联办《艺术链接2.0》国际艺术展欢迎宴及开幕仪式，日前在亚庇凯城酒店大王花宴会厅及沙巴基金局大学学院大堂圆满成功举行。该活动获得沙巴州政府旅游、文化即环境部，沙巴旅游局，亚庇市政厅，中国驻哥打基纳巴卢总领馆，棕油综合工业区（POIC）有限公司，马来西亚中国商务理事会，马来西亚海上丝绸之路研究学会，马来西亚中国总商会沙巴分会，沙巴中国总商会，沙巴中小型企业公会，兰瑙中华工商会，亚洲艺术家联盟，中国北京国创艺术馆，Malaysian Artists Society，槟城艺术协会，槟城水墨画协会，Persatuan Seni Visual Sabah，亚庇书艺协会，丹南书艺协会，婆联书艺协会，Majlis Belia Sabah，沙巴私立高等教育学院协会，亚庇中学董事会，马来西亚沙巴大学，北婆罗洲大学学院，哲士顿大学学院，沙巴英迪学院，Tunku Abdul Rahman University College，Kolej Teknikal Yayasan Sabah，MSU College Sabah，Sidma College，TKT Group，Max Capital Management，亚庇凯城酒店等代表，以及社会贤达拿督江登光，拿督吴征财，拿督陈开德，李福炎等鼎力支持。

此次国际艺术展的视觉艺术作品和往年最大的不同之处，即内容有对疫情的反思，个人劫难后的通透阐述，为体验生命的价值和美好，万物和谐共生共存共荣的深刻理解，各个国家与民族之间互爱互助的表现，皆在参展作品中展现出来。该展最大的意愿为推动“一带一路”文化先行，展现艺术之美体现文化自觉，国际艺术融合共生的关系，也促进丝路沿线国家之间的艺术文化交流与互鉴。使不同文化、不同地域，却民心相通的群体从艺术鉴赏中感受到贯通欧亚、穿越古今的丝绸之路宏大深厚的人文气韵，苍天大地和大自然文化所赋予人类的关爱与希望。

Art Connects Organizing Chairman

It does excite me greatly to see the Art Connects International Art Exhibition again. It is the second time that we are having this exhibition since the inaugural event in 2019. After the hampering hiatus of the pandemic, with the keen participation of University College Sabah Foundation (UCSF) and Asian Tourism International College (ATI College) together with Sabah Institute of Art (SIA) as the main organizer, we now turn up as 'Art Connects 2.0’. Art Connects 2.0 International Art Exhibition 2022 shall provide an experiential opportunity for participating artists to display their works of art therefore enabling participants to engage in visual conversation; expressing thoughts and feelings while at the same time appreciate and understand the perspectives of others. As an opportune program for interaction, this event shall share other works of art into the local setting hence providing motivation and creative insights to all. Like all mode of communication there is codependence within the arts and artists are no exception. It involves opportunities to discover and to develop collaboratively even if individually they cultivate their expressions and creativity within their respective mediums.

Aspiration’ besides presenting a event to observe and discuss works of art, also arrange a revitalizing environment for artists and art enthusiasts to reconnect and interact with renewed vigor and artistic vibrancy in a post-pandemic scene. Art is a form of expression of a culture. Art cannot be wholly interpret as culture, yet the understanding it as a medium and to fully utilize and expressing it as a way of communication. A lot of artists might wonder how to find, meet, and engage with collectors everywhere who might be interested in their work. Yet, the answer could be anything to this. But there are a variety of ways to put yourself and your art out there and open up possibilities to connect with collectors both locally and internationally.

After some time, the reappearance of the international art exhibition in Sabah for the second time has finally about to take up. Art Connect 2.0 International Exhibition is where the gathering of talent from different region. It is wherepassion, creativity, emotion and culture showcased. Artists from different state, countries and levels meet up and build connection. I hope through such event like this could help motivate and stimulate the creativity and passion and open up more opportunities to our own society in Sabah. To all the organizing team, thank you for your endless commitment and determination on making this event a success.
