你能坚持用英语学英语吗？Make up an excuse(找借口)的练习

如果你真的是没有学习和使用英语的语言环境，只能自学英语口语，那么，你最好学会“自己跟自己说英语”，学会用英语学英语。

比如，to make up an excuse for doing something.我们不仅可以用中文“为某事找借口”来学，我们还可以用英语来学：

1) 自己跟自己说英语：

Well,what is the meaning of "make up an excuse for doibg something"?

Well,the meaning of "make up an excuse" is:

to create a reason,or find a reason for something

2) 自己跟自己说例句：

Well, for example, we can say：

1. I made up an excuse, so I didn’t have to go to the meeting. I pretended I was sick= I faked sick(装病).

2. Teacher: Why are you late?

  Student: Well, first the bus was late. Then it started raining and I didn’t have an

          umbrella. Next….

  Teacher: Stop making up excuses!

3. When I didn’t want to go to work, I decided to make up an excuse, so I told them that my dog died.

“用英语学英语”常用基本英语表达

说到“用英语学英语”，可能很多人连下面基本的英语都运用不熟，所以，要想掌握“用英语学英语”的能力，估计得从这些最基本的英语开始：

1) 学习前

1. What is the meaning of...?

2. What does it mean to say...?

3. Well,I have no idea of the meaning of...What does it mean in English?

  都是“。。。什么意思啊？”的意思。

比如：读到It's raining cats and dogs, I think we have to cancel our BBQ for tomorrow时，

You'll say：

What is the meaning of rain cats and dogs? = What does it mean to say rain cats and dogs? = Well, I have no idea of the meaning of rain cats and dogs,what does it mean in English?

以后遇到类似的英语“生词”，就不要一开口就用中文问“这个生词什么意思啊？”了。

2) 学习后

1. Okay,I got you = Okay.Got it.

2.Okay.Got it.When we say ...,we mean ....OR：Well, when we say ...,we can also say ...

都是“我明白了”的意思。

比如，读到rain cats and dogs：raining very hard, raining heavily时，

You say：

Okay.Got it.When we say rain cats and dogs,we mean It's raining very hard, or raining heavily.

OR：

When we say rain cats and dogs,we can also say It's raining very hard, or raining heavily.

原则：能给自己用英语的地方，就尽量用英语。这也是“英语是学来用”的一种体现。
