Go back to your lair
Lame wolf disgraced
And sleep there
Until the barking freezes
And the curses rust and the torches
Of the hue and cry drop dead
and until they all collapse
Empty-handed into themselves
And bites through their tongues with spite
The dogheaded bullies with knives behind their ears
and the beaters with their members over their shoulders
And the hunting dragons the wolf-eaters
On all fours I crawl before you
And howl to your glory
As into your great
Green times
And I pray to you my old lame god
