How to Choose the Right Answer to a Problem
Typically, we refer to this as the "choose five from seven" test. It's not a simple test as it incorporates various factors from the text. A friend recently asked me to identify the correct answer to a problem:
My strategy for finding the correct answer is to start by reading the given options. After reviewing the options labeled A, B, C, D, E, F, and G, I noticed that option D relates to maintaining regular contact, which aligns logically with the first paragraph titled "Set a Regular Date". Therefore, I confidently selected option D for the first blank.
The second paragraph discusses how more communication does not necessarily benefit a friendship. The sentence following the blank focuses on finding alternative methods of communication, making option E the clear choice. It is directly related to the topic. Hence, option E is the answer for the second blank.
Moving on to the third paragraph, which centers around empathy, the blank serves as the topic sentence. Additionally, the second sentence suggests that someone has left. Option G addresses the friend who either left or was left behind. Therefore, option G is undoubtedly the answer to the blank.
The next answer should correlate with the paragraph's subtitle, which emphasizes important dates. As a result, option A is the correct answer.
