今天，吃货君要向大家推荐一本不算新书的新书——Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone: The Illustrated Edition (Harry Potter, Book 1)Oct 6, 2015 by J.K. Rowling and Jim Kay《哈利·波特与魔法石（全彩绘本）》 想必大家对“哈利·波特”系列都不陌生，懂英语的哈迷们更是早已见识过罗琳笔下的奇迹。前两天，吃货君突然发现了“哈利·波特”全彩绘本，说不出有多高兴，赶紧入手。收到新书之后，吃货君简直爱不释手，看了整整一下午。画家吉姆·凯（Jim Kay）捕捉到了故事的精髓，让原本妙趣横生的故事更加引人入胜。废话不多说了，上图！
尽管吃货君对哈利的故事已经烂熟于心，但是厄里斯魔镜这一章，配着这样的插图，还是一秒钟戳中了吃货君的泪点。每每想起厄里斯魔镜的名字（the mirror of erised），就不得不赞叹罗琳的文笔和想象力（有没有发现erised其实是desire？）。罗琳写下的，不仅仅是让人百看不厌的故事，还是研究英语构词法的好书（很多咒语里都包含英语或拉丁语词根）。 遗憾的是，本书的中文版依然沿用了之前的译本。尽管该译本较最初译本有所改进，但仍存在一些翻译腔、翻译错误和排版上的不足，这些问题虽然不会从本质上改变故事的完整性，但难免给读者带来一些阅读障碍。“哈利·波特”系列的第二部——“密室”的绘本已在英美国家出版，中文版估计还在制作中。希望今后的中文版能减少翻译失误。 在此，吃货君为所有大朋友们奉上厄里斯魔镜一章的部分内容，愿大家童心永驻！
THE MIRROR OF ERISED It was a magnificent mirror, as high as the ceiling, with an ornate gold frame, standing on two clawed feet. There was an inscription carved around the top: Erised stra ehru oyt ube cafru oyt on wohsi. His panic fading now that there was no sound of Filch and Snape, Harry moved nearer to the mirror, wanting to look at himself but see no reflection again. He stepped in front of it. He had to clap his hands to his mouth to stop himself from screaming. He whirled around. His heart was pounding far more furiously than when the book had screamed -- for he had seen not only himself in the mirror, but a whole crowd of people standing right behind him. But the room was empty. Breathing very fast, he turned slowly back to the mirror. There he was, reflected in it, white and scared-looking, and there, reflected behind him, were at least ten others. Harry looked over his shoulder – but still, no one was there. Or were they all invisible, too? Was he in fact in a room full of invisible people and this mirror's trick was that it reflected them, invisible or not? He looked in the mirror again. A woman standing right behind his reflection was smiling at him and waving. He reached out a hand and felt the air behind him. If she was really there, he'd touch her, their reflections were so close together, but he felt only air – she and the others existed only in the mirror. She was a very pretty woman. She had dark red hair and her eyes – her eyes are just like mine, Harry thought, edging a little closer to the glass. Bright green – exactly the same shape, but then he noticed that she was crying; smiling, but crying at the same time. The tall, thin, black-haired man standing next to her put his arm around her. He wore glasses, and his hair was very untidy. It stuck up at the back, just as Harry’s did. Harry was so close to the mirror now that his nose was nearly touching that of his reflection. “Mom?” he whispered. “Dad?” They just looked at him, smiling. And slowly, Harry looked into the faces of the other people in the mirror, and saw other pairs of green eyes like his, other noses like his, even a little old man who looked as though he had Harry’s knobbly knees – Harry was looking at his family, for the first time in his life. The Potters smiled and waved at Harry and he stared hungrily back at them, his hands pressed flat against the glass as though he was hoping to fall right through it and reach them. He had a powerful kind of ache inside him, half joy, half terrible sadness. How long he stood there, he didn’t know. The reflections did not fade and he looked and looked until a distant noise brought him back to his senses. He couldn’t stay here, he had to find his way back to bed. He tore his eyes away from his mother's face, whispered, “I’ll come back,” and hurried from the room.
