介词和连词（1）

Answer：是啊，有关状语从句还有不少需要学习的内容，我们今天开始学习介词和连词部分的内容。前面我们专门学习过介词，今天开始的这个部分讲介词和连词，因为很多词既是介词有是连词，有些介词，当他们连接从句时就是连词。这个部分将涉及不少状语从句。

介词和连词（1）for

For

Reading:

Miss Alen wasn’t able to explain what had happened to her for nearly a week.

One afternoon a week ago, she set out from the coast in a small boat and was caught in a storm.. Towards evening, the boat struck a rock and the girl jumped into the sea. Then she swam in the sea for more than 10 hours till at last she came to the shore. During that time she covered a distance of eight miles.

Now she is all right. Her teachers and schoolmates are in the hospital together with her.

“How long had you been in the sea ? Can you remember ?”

“Actually, I can’t remember what happened to me the other day. I only know from the calendar that I have been in hospital for a week now.”

“You’re really a good swimmer.”

“I’ll try to swim everyday for the rest of my life.”

I．时间介词：for

1 For 用来回答'How long?’ 提出的问题。

For后面一般接一段时间，通常是几小时，几天，几星期，几个月，几年等。

The girl wasn’t able to explain what had happened to her for nearly a week.

Then she swam in the sea for more than 10 hours.

2 For 可以与过去时，现在时和将来时连用。

现在完成时：I only know from the calendar that I have been in hospital fora week now.

过去完成时：How long had you been in the sea ? ( I had been in the sea for ten hours.)

一般过去时：Then she swam in the sea for more than 10 hours.

一般将来时：I’ll try to swim everyday for the rest of my life.

也可以和一般现在时连用。

3 For不与下列词组连用： all morning, all day, all evening, all year, all my life,等。
