Mr. Steward was walking along the street when he saw a lady struggling with a large package. It was half in and half out of her car.

Mr. Steward was very helpful. So he went up to the lady and said. “Let me give you a hand with that package. It looks very heavy.”

“That’s very kind of you,” the lady said with a smile on her face. “I’m having a lot of trouble with it. I think it was stuck.”

“Together we’ll soon move it,” Mr. Steward said. “I’ll get into the car and take the other end.” With these words, he got into the back seat of the car and held the other end of the package.

“Right,” he said, “I’m ready,” and he began to push with all his strength.

For several minutes, Mr. Steward and the lady struggled with the package. Soon they were both breathless.

“Let’s pause for a minute,” Mr. Steward said. “You’re right. It’s really stuck.”

They took a break, getting their breath back. Then Mr. Steward said, “Let’s try again. Are you ready?”

Both of them took hold of the package again.

“One, two, three!” Mr. Steward said, and again they continued their struggle with the package.

Finally when they were both exhausted, Mr. Steward said, “I'm sorry, but it seems to be completely stuck. I don’t think there’s any way to get it out of your car.”

“Get it out of the car!” the lady cried. “I’m trying to get it in! You know?”
