英国Academic Visitor (AV)签证攻略

因为协助队友准备英国Academic Visitor (AV)签证资料，我对资料和流程有所了解，因此把这些信息写下来，分享给有需要的人。

时间线：四月底五月初准备相关签证资料，5月8日在GOV.UK线上提交签证申请，并在VFS网站上预约了5月30日在VFS西安签证中心递签(其实9日之后基本都可以预约，但我们没时间)，27日左右在VFS网站上传签证资料，30日到VFS西安签证中心递签、录指纹，6月18日收到需要补充ATAS证书的邮件后回复邮件补充了材料，6月21日收到护照快递发出的短信，6月23日收到护照，签证通过。

英国的Academic Visitor签证，也被称为访问学者签证。这类签证适用于计划在英国进行学术研究、访问学术项目或与英国学术机构合作的学者，学术资质原则上需要博士、副教授以上，能提供相关支持“high qualified”的签证材料。

• 资料准备，清单如下图(签证照片官网上没要求，但还是准备了2张，交材料的时候发现是不需要的；有些资料不是硬性要求，只是为了提高签证通过率)

  

• 国外邀请函：明确写了The purpose of the visit will be for independent research；还有要求Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS)证书 (下篇写一下ATAS证书申请)。

• 个人简历：介绍了教育经历、学术经历和发表的文章，表明自己在此研究领域有一定的成果。

• 研究计划：介绍了此研究领域的研究现状、为什么选择此学校、期望取得的研究成果和研究计划(以月为单位的,每个月或每几个月计划的工作)。

• 肺结核检查：签证期限超过6个月的需要提供肺结核检查报告，肺结核检测报告的有效期是6个月，在办理签证和入境英国的时候都需要出示。查询中国大陆的指定检测机构如下：https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/tuberculosis-test-for-a-uk-visa-clinics-in-china/approved-tuberculosis-testing-clinics-in-china，检测时间很快(结果没问题的情况下)，需要准备2张照片和护照，具体请看医院要求。

• 翻译件：没有英文的原件需要翻译，可以自己翻译。

• GOV.UK网站申请签证(AV签证属于Standard Visitor签证)，网页：https://www.gov.uk/standard-visitor/apply-standard-visitor-visa，点击Apply now按钮，一步步回答问题，大概需要2小时左右；最后是交费(交费成功后会收到支付成功的邮件)，然后可以转到VFS网站预约。Document checklist提示需要以下签证资料：

1. Mandatory documents: the passport

2. Other documents(strongly recommend):

• As you are visiting for academic purposes

• Evidence that you are highly qualified within your own field of expertise

• Evidence that you are currently working in that field at an academic institution or institution of higher education overseas

• A TB certificate

• A letter from your UK host organisation confirming the arrangements for your research or exchange

• A letter from your current employer on official headed paper, detailing the period of your sabbatical, exchange, or outlining the research you will be undertaking

• As you have applied under the Visit –Standard category
  

• Evidence of funds available to you, and which are clearly accessible by you

• Evidence of support you will receive from your sponsor including details of what support is being provided and how

• Evidence of the relationship, if any, between you and your sponsor

• Evidence that your sponsor is not, or will not be, in breach of UK immigration laws at the time of your visit

• VFS网站，选择签证中心和预约时间，交费。

• VFS网站上传相关签证资料，注意资料的文件名不能有中文或标点符号，否则会上传失败，出现“Your file is protected”的提示。资料被分为几大类上传：

• Accommodation–Permanent/Temporary

• Educational Evidence

• Financial Evidence

• Additional Documents / Others

• Consent Letters and Proof of Relationship

• Employment Evidence

• Sponsor Evidence

• Tuberculosis (TB) Certificate

• 签证中心递交资料、录指纹，所有准备的原件、复印件都没有收(这些资料都已经上传VFS网站)，只看了递签预约信和交了护照。
