Wandering in a long long
而又寂寥的雨巷，
Lonely lane in the rain
我希望逢着

一个丁香一样地
A lilac style
结着愁怨的姑娘。
Girl with gloomy mystery

她是有
She might have
丁香一样的颜色，
The color of lilacs
丁香一样的芬芳，
The fragrance of lilacs
丁香一样的忧愁，
The sadness of lilacs
在雨中哀怨，
Grieving in the rain
哀怨又彷徨；
Grieving and wandering

她彷徨在这寂寥的雨巷，
She is wandering through the lane in the rain
撑着油纸伞
Holding an oiled paper umbrella
像我一样，
as the same as me
像我一样地
as the same way as mine
默默踟躇着，
Hesitating in silence
冷漠，凄清，又惆怅。
cold, lonely and sad

她默默地走近
She comes over silently
走近，又投出
Nearer, sending out
叹息一般的眼光，
A sight full of sighs
她飘过
She floats across
像梦一般地，
Just like a dream
像梦一般地凄婉迷茫。
Like a dream, sad and lost

像梦中飘过一枝丁香，
As if a lilac floating away in my dream
我身旁飘过这女郎；
The lady is floating away, passing by,
她静默地远了，远了，
She is further and further away in silence
到了颓圮篱墙，
To the desolate fence and ancient wall
走尽这雨巷。
To the end of the lane in the rain

在雨的哀曲里，
In a sad song of the rain
消了 她的颜色，
Fading away is her color
散了 她的芬芳
Disappearing is her fragrance
消散了，她叹息般的眼光
Lost is her sight full of sighs
丁香般的惆怅。
And the sadness of lilacs
