【show】“秀”的用法

show这个词有很多层面的意思，作为动词，它有出示，展示的意思。作为名词，它有演出，表演的意思。前段时间荧幕上很火的达人秀，型秀，真人秀，里面的“秀”都是show的音译，今天我们就一起来学习这个词的另外一些用法！

1.  get the show on the road 开始，着手实施，出发

Right，everyone，Let’s get this show on the road！好吧，诸位，我们开始吧！

 

2. Do something for show 做给别人看，做做样子

Jane doesn’t really like whisky, she just drinks it for show. 简不是真的喜欢喝威士忌，她只是为了做做样子而已。

 

3. Show somebody a clean pair of heels. 令同行望尘莫及

As makers of quality shoes, they’ve shown the rest of the industry a clean pair of heels. 作为高品质鞋的制造商，他们令同行望尘莫及。

The biggest mistake that people make with fonts in presentations is assuming that the first three font styles（n.字体） listed above are boring. This causes them to jump to something like the font on the bottom because it feels more unique and interesting.
