印度摄影“新一代”，《照亮印度：摄影 1857 -2017》展览受关注

摄影于1839年传入印度，最初是英国人用以记录当地民众生活、建筑以及风景。并且在当时摄影成为了一种最为直接的、真实的记录印度特殊殖民经历的媒介。

近日，在英国的科学博物馆（Science Museum）举办了一场名为《照亮印度：摄影 1857 -2017》的展览。此次展览关注从19世纪五十年代以来，有着海外知识背景的一批印度摄影家作品，这些摄影家之中，很多曾经被忽视。展览围绕着两个关键词展开。第一个关键词为1857年之前的印度摄影，第二阶段为1947年的印度。这对于印度来说是一个在摄影技术、艺术方面都蓬勃发展的年代。
