杜争鸣 A Night Mooring by the Maple Bridge
The moon is down, crows cry, and frost fills up the sky;
By bank maples, fishing lights, in sorrow’s wake I lie.
Beyond Gusu town from the Temple of Hanshan
Comes at midnight the bell to my boat from strange land.

The old moon is going down
And the crows make a ruckus

I fall into a sad sleep
The monastery on cold mountain
It is outside the town of Gusu
The sound of its bell
Touches the guest boat at midnight
